Many thanks my cover letter is totalling 1200 words. I hope that they will not penalise me for the length of my letter as there is no word count!!

It wont be the word count, it will be more whether the written style is concise, whether there is any unnecessary repetition with other parts of your application, and whether you have been able to focus on the most relevant messages (rather than just providing everything).

Hi there!

I am currently participating in Mischon's Sports Law Academy (a series of online lectures surrounding the sports law environment). I am currently filling out an application for a firm that has a sports law section, so was wondering can I put this in the employment section?

Their employment section states:

"Please add your employment history below (to include vacation schemes, work experience, unpaid work, mini-pupillages etc.)"

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

@Jessica Booker any insight?

It isn't work experience, but should be included elsewhere in your application.

Me - I'm starting to think you hear back depending on who interviewed you. I know the woman who conducted my interview told me she was interviewing this week too and to anticipate a response nearer the end of the week. This wasn't what was said to others who were told last week was the last week of interviews. so I do think its interviewer dependant
Is this for the summer or spring scheme?

    Hi @Jessica Booker, for the Macfarlanes application, can you leave the "other activities" section empty? The section asks to give details of time spent out of education or work, for example time spent overseas. I don't have anything like that unless you count time spent abroad during a holiday? Would leaving the section leaving empty look bad?

    I have 249 words on a 250 word question and it won't let me submit it??? Its says the field must be less than 250 words even though it is

    i have had this issue with a few applications. On word it would say, for example, 248 but then on the application portal it would say I was above the word limit? I just had to delete a few words on the application form to make sure it was under (even though I am sure I already was)

    Usually, if that's the case, there's a hidden character limit! From my own experience, I remember DLA Piper having a word limit of 250 but a character limit of 1,500 characters! My answer was approximately 215 words after my edit.

    Willkie are currently recruiting for trainees who can start in Sept 2021,2022 and 2023. On Legal Cheek it says they have 6 training contracts in total. This leads me to the question of whether that means only 2 trainees will be taken on each year. Can anyone who has attended any presentations with Willkie provide an insight into this?
