They might’ve changed it now but yeah, last year they were both in the same stage. I did them on the same day as I had to do the interview virtually cause I was on year abroad, but I think most people had the case study on another day (but wasn’t a separate stage)
Yeah for direct TC last year I had the case study and interview with an associate and HR team rep, then after that there was a final interview with 2 partners
There are like 5 VI questions in the job sim so I would practice some VI questions. There’s also a short written task but I don’t think you can prepare much for that or the SJT sections
I’ve also seen Slaughter and May has ‘taken similar action’ to CMS and CC but they said “each instance is assessed on a case-by-case basis.”

If you know you definitely prefer the direct TC firm then I would say there’s no point. But if you’re not sure, and still considering the other firms then it could be worth completing the vacation schemes to help with your decision
I think this post has some relevance, not sure which US firms you were referring to, but if they recently started recruitment this might be part of why you’ve seen that trend?
