I think you did the completely right thing. These sort of questions aren't expecting you to have debated the definition of competition and how it should be measured. I do understand how it can be frustrating when you are doing them though :)
Hi! from an economics degree perspective, reduction in tariffs or subsidies increase competition because they encourage entry into the market. Market competition is based on the concentration of firms/products in the market. Note that it says products not firms as well so I do this the answer is...
Does anyone know if you can find out your WG score for CC? I passed last year so was automatically passed this year but I have no clue how well I actually did/if it matters.
At the Skadden open day they said they dislike spelling errors and it 'marks you down' but they still consider the whole application. S&M have interviewed people who have called them Allen & Overy in their cover letter or have said they have a moscow office when they don't. Hope that is some...
The time taken doesn’t matter. They give you an hour for the WG though. There is a chance that it was a problem in previous cycles and they’ve fixed it for this one so up to you if you want to risk it.
They automatically do it I think. I emailed as I applied near the deadline and they said it had already been processed then I looked on the portal and it had been. I don't think you would need to email just apply a bit more ahead of the deadline if you are concerned would be my advice
This is probably a really stupid question (that has probably been asked before sorry) but do you write mergers & acquisitions or M&A in application forms?
For the Jones Day cover letter what are the key things to focus on? Obviously the non-rotational TC structure ought to be mentioned somewhere but what else other than that? It is only 300 words so I am struggling to work out what to allocated my word count to! Any help would be so appreciated :)
It’s very frustrating as i got almost the same as the year I got an AC except one of my highest attributes was critical thinking instead of working with others! So unless they only interview the 99th percentile (which for all I know they might) then that must be an attribute which is very...
Given I scored 38/40 and got the 98th percentile and still rejected, you have to do well on all areas. I think your CAPP results are quite important and they must look for specific results on that.
For the Jones Day cover letter do people usually put dear.. and then yours sincerely at the end? It says we do not need to address it to a person or include addresses but does this mean there is no dear graduate recruitment manager?
Oh my gosh I am so sorry that first part was a typo! It totally is realistic! Sorry comes with typing on a phone! I meant unrealistic! I’ve edited my post so it should give the right message now!:)
I don't think it is unrealistic at all. Many firms take people not studying law so the fact that you do computer science is not a problem. I literally attended a talk yesterday where one of the trainees at Slaughter and May had done exactly that degree. As for your A levels if they were from...
Yeah this is the case. I think something like 3 weeks legal work experience is required? I'd check the specifics but they do specify a number of weeks.
I believe you can only apply for the direct TC if you have done a VS application. However, it seems this information may not be right so you may be able to submit an application. If you've had an AC (this year) you almost certainly can't re apply this year for a VS
