For the skadden VS app when it asks about interests/hobbies outside of school/work should we relate these to the skills we gained from them? Also if I have done an insight day with a firm (which is the equivalent of their first year scheme) should that go in the positions of responsibility...
I have always done fine so I thought I’d give a few thoughts. I always take the approach of take on all the work and try hard to do every task I’m asked to do. Even if it’s a dull task I usually go for the option that says I’ll do it. I try to just be positive in my answers and show enthusiasm...
Do Jones day ask for everyone’s academic reference? I only submitted yesterday evening but they’ve already asked for it! It says once they’ve received my reference they’ll then review my application but that seems different to what I’ve seen said on the thread before
From what I can tell it seems to be similar to the PwC one. I am pretty sure it was mostly clicking there was no typing of long paragraphs. Hope that is some sort of help!
80% sounds fine to me! I usually get around 90% on practice tests and I have passed the ones I have had to do for applications. I think I tend to do better when I don't over think it as well which is easier said than done :)
I feel the exact same! I had a VS which didn't become a TC this year too. I'm probably going to be starting a non-legal job in September in banking which is not what I had hoped I'd be doing. I am mainly applying to direct TC positions this year as I have done a VS and I am hoping that leads me...
I would be interest in this too! I usually don’t say anything but I did for S&M this year because I know they put a particular emphasis on academics but I’m yet to hear back
For the CAPP test I expect they have a lot more information about an individuals performance than we, as applicants, see in that report. It most likely isn’t as simple as certain highest attributes get an AC, otherwise people would quickly work out which one they needed to get and not answer...
No I didn’t. I did it last year for the PwC first year scheme and was successful. Honestly drove me insane but I had to leave the last one on the lock!
I can’t really answer the question sorry. But they do say that when you interview in the period does not impact your chances. One of the partners said ‘if we want to hire you we will’ meaning if they have filled up all their spots but still want you they will give you an offer. Just think of it...
When I got an AC my highest were: respect and working with others, lowest was: resource and work management. Last time I got critical thinking instead of working with others as my highest but got rejected
