Respectfully, don't you think it undermines the process slightly to give the exact wording of every single question?
In regards to hearing back apparently grad rec have a bit of a backlog of applications because the deadline just passed, so I think it might take a bit longer.
Hi all,
I know this thread hasn't been active in a while but I was wondering if anyone knows if these interview experiences are from when White & Case operated a CV blind policy or is this new for this year?
This cycle they have stated that the interviewers "will not have a copy of your...
Hey Joe, for my own applications I only include presentations on campus if that is the firm that I'm applying to but I usually put it in the cover letter or why this firm section. I haven't been on many open days so I will include those in the work experience section even if it's not the firm...
Hi everyone!
I was wondering if anyone else has done legal work experience previously at independent/smaller firms and is now applying to international/bigger firms and how you explain this in interviews?
I have done a lot of work experience at a regional firm and find that this makes...
If this is for Bakers I don’t think they do rolling recruitment. All of the other assessments have not been rolling so I doubt they would start now. Especially as there is only one week between dates. Though in general with other firms it is probably a case of being beneficial to pick early.
I didn't receive any feedback on the WG, but they asked me for more details on my education about a week after I took the test. I haven't heard anything since then. I would like to hope they wouldn't have asked for further information if they weren't interested at all, but other people have been...
I think it might be worth also considering when firms ask you to complete the tests too, though. Burges Salmon do the online test once you get to the AC and last year grad rec said they don't place much weighting on it at all so even if online tests are not for you then it shouldn't be a barrier...
What scheme did you get the VI for Bakers for? At the open day they said it's all competency questions with one on commercial awareness. I think they said that there are 5 questions.
Hi everyone,
I have a telephone interview coming up which is strengths based. I've only just got my head around competency interviews and the STAR format so I'm at a loss with this one. Has anyone had a strengths based assessment and is able to share some tips? Specifically with how to format...
This has happened to me before and I just let the graduate team know and they added a note to my application. It was no biggie for them and I still got through to the next round so I wouldn't worry!
Hey! I am still working on my A&O app too. My answer was linked to LawTech, from advice I have read in other threads it sounds like it is better to write about something that is an 'obvious topic' than to not write well about something that is obscure or unique. So if you have an interest in...
I'm putting in down as a separate paragraph. But I don't suppose it would make too much of a difference if you didn't, maybe it depends on if it's linked to the content you have included in those other paragraphs?
Hey, I previously managed to successfully complete this application which had a similar sort of question. Burges Salmon lay out the qualities they like in trainees quite well on their website, I think this is key because they are very open about emphasising different qualities than City firms...
