Is it akin to networking? A firm representative would never tell you the very Q's that you will be asked in interview. Maybe more akin to going into an exam having already been handed the questions...
They send a partner to spend a day at a few select universities where they then interview students for the vac scheme. I think that there are other that firms do this too (maybe slaughters?)
Do you guys know that Travers send partners to interview at specific unis? I think this is in Jan/Feb so I think sifting through the apps so late might have to do with the fact that a lot of spaces are filled by them using this method before they even get to general apps. Just an assumption on...
Yeah that scenario would be awkward. Your example sounds good though, a good way to get it in that you have that experience without it being out of place. Thank you!
This is amazing! For the second point, it's recommended that we mention schemes/TC offers whilst in a group with other candidates? Has anyone had experience with that kind of thing before, I don't know if I'd be brave enough to open the conversation of being unsuccessful post VS
Hey guys, on the email invitation it says the deadline is tomorrow (friday) but then lower down in the email it says 13th. On my application portal it also says the invitation will expire on the 13th. I should be able to get it done tomorrow but if not do you guys think the deadline is the 13th...
Sorry if this is obvious, I'm having trouble locating the answer on Kirkland's job board but does anyone know:
Is Kirkland's deadline tonight at midnight, or tomorrow midnight? Deadline just says 5th
and same for Debevoise?
I suspect it must be tomorrow midnight, right?
Definitely! it's a big differentiator and a massive draw. I would just make sure to frame it in the right way. There's a good thread somewhere on here about Latham specifically, although I'm sure it applies to a lot of US firms, talking about how 'meritocratic' they are comparatively to MC firms...
Hi, I received an email almost two weeks after competing the tests. In previous years they sent out a report (just like Links this year) but this year they don't (unless mine just went missing).
I ended up getting an email from them yesterday. They must have stopped sending out the reports this year (or maybe it got caught in my email filter...)
I don't think you should worry. I think it's really good that your strength was critical thinking, but with that being said you can't tell if you did good or bad from your report. From what I understand though your weakness was excellence, you could well have still scored strongly in that area...
Hey, I went to the open day last year and I remember them saying not to refer to CC in the 600 words. When I was there they stressed that this should be about you. I think they said STAR should be used for your greatest achievement but I'm not sure if we are supposed to use it with other...
I think there are different emails - those that are definitely through and those that have passed but haven't been decided on yet. It's quite common for Deloitte to keep people 'on hold' even if they pass the simulation (according to wikijob forum)
Hi, it’s fine if you disagree with me but my concern is that these aren’t suggestions. I’ve done the VI and these are the three questions. In my view, it’s clear that candidates who are able to prepare them in advance are given an unfair advantage.
Personally, I just think there is a...
