    BPP LPC help. 3Days?

By the way under Information on the hub there is a message about the January assessments which is very important not least because it includes the timetable. It quite long so I will not put it here but the dates are: "Assessment Paper Date Time Litigation Civil Paper 1 Monday...

Help please! Withdrawing TC offer after LPC

So you have completed the LPC alrady but do not start at the law firm until next year. It may be that you are feeling better by next year. Would it not be better not to "burn your boats" now by withdrawing from the TC and seeing if you feel more like it next year as it is quite an opportunity...

Using the gap between finishing the GDL and starting the LPC (a nice problem to have!)

One of my lawyer daughters did the LPC right away and then had a gap year after. That means you get the exams all over wigh and don't have a year to get out of the habit of exams but it may be here that your firm would not allow that and it is getting a little late to strt the LPC for the...

As a trainee, in what way are the tasks between disputes/ corporate seats different?

It will depend on the firm. When I was a trainee in litigation I was sent to courts all over the place to do very simple boring applications eg to ask for more time. I did a lot of paperwork, documents etc. Some disputes however are settled with one letter rather than going to court so it is...

    BPP LPC help. 3Days?

I don't think anyone has been asked to submit elective choices yet. My son did discuss his with his tutor last week and the other one is doing so later this week but I do not think it is yet time to submit the choices.

    Advice about self-funding the SQE

May be or they will certainly be used to the LPC and if you have taken it and passed it that might be more straightforward for them. If you have passed the LPC when obtaining a paralegal role I don't think that would be held against you compared with if you do SQE1 and 2 courses and then exams...

    Advice about self-funding the SQE

(Better people will be along soon, but you might find it simpler just to do the LPC - one course, one st of exams set by the same institution, tried and tested as you have an LLB already that route is still open to you)

TCLA General Discussion Thread 2021-22 (#1)

My twin sons are doing the LPC living at home at present with a similar commuting time (in their case about an hour door to door) and there are definitely others in their group who live at home too. They only go in twice a week( but the accelerated LPC might be on more days a week to fit it all...

    PGDL or SQE prep

By the way BPP have today published their SQE courses - see summary at https://bit.ly/3uiz4PK from the Law Society Gazette. I must say it is all looking very complicated - eg it says UoL suggest non law graduates do their law conversion course first before doing the UoL LLM Legal practice. BPP...

    PGDL or SQE prep

I agree with Jessica. Also on your questions BPP trains more City firm trainees than UoL. That is the only reason someone might put it ahead of UoL but they are both very good so it will not matter which and as Jessica says this is not like your first degree and there is never any issue of...

    PGDL or SQE prep

It is hard to tell yet. As you do not have a law firm paying your fees it is probably sensible to do the UoL one that covers both SQE1 and 2 even though some of the big firms in the City Consortium are putting people through the BPP PGDL (and then SQE1) and then they go on to the course after...

    BPP LPC help. 3Days?

And his twin has today received the Company Law Handbook - so they have everything now.

    BPP LPC help. 3Days?

This will not affect most people but there is a new announcement on the Hub that there are still a lot of new people joining the course and if a current group even so remains too small they may "collapse the group"/ move people to a different group. It also says if there is staff sickness it...

    BPP LPC help. 3Days?

My sons, by the way, have bought "LPC Answered - Core Modules" which looks quite good and came this morning, although I am sure the BPP LPC provided materials are more than enough with which to pass and do well. Also on the Hub today (21st) there is a new notice in the Announcements Section...

    BPP LPC help. 3Days?

R203: I believe people are not opted into the LLM unless they applied for that. My sons are not doing it. It might say on your original "Welcome to BPP" email what your registration is eg my sons' said - you are now registered on the LPC (rather than saying LPC/LLM). How to find the...

    BPP LPC help. 3Days?

h1, good to know. This on the Hub announcements section might be useful for those who have not seen it - says online exams remain (unless you choose in person exams which also are possible). My twins have already chosen online as it worked fine for the PGDL and avoids risks of travel delays etc...

    BPP LPC help. 3Days?

The announcement email I mention above says "We also recommend that you complete the BLP pre-module reading test in advance of the first BLP SGS. This test is merely for self-assessment purposes and will NOT count towards your LPC/LLM or be reviewed by any of your tutors." So am...

    Elective Choice- LPC

I am not really sure but make sure they are roughly in the right area eg high street law rr business law. One of my daughters did Corporate Finance, Private Acquisitions and IP/commercial. My other older daughter who was sponsored did the 3 more City law ones LegalA lists above as required by...

    SQE - general discussion

I agree with the above. My son's friend is just starting the GDL (so starting Sept 2021) as that big law firm who is sponsoring the person is keeping to LPC route for those starting training contracts in 2023 (but I am not sure about 2024 - that might be a "big switchover" year for firms - which...

    BPP LPC help. 3Days?

My twins do not have it yet either and will not therefore be bringing it to the first SGS {apparently the new issue is only just published each year at end of August so if often a bit late in hard copy form] . (The one with the missing property BPP book thing did at last have a reply which...
