Are you sure the BPP course (which includes their PGDL (and preparation for SQE1 and 2 exams) is closed book? BPP's current PGDL and LPC are both open book exams.
Both UoL and BPP are fine but check whether each course gets you where you want to be eg does the UoL one as well as the GDL prepare...
The information about skills assessments says the final assessment (not mock) of Interview and Advising is in week of 14 March. It also says you will be notified by email on 28 February (i.e. yesterday) along with details of the Legal Note allocated to you (also available on Hub from 28 Feb...
I am an old lawyer who loves it with lawyer children even. Lots of people do not leave, do not break down or have problems with stress or long hours and are perfectly happy. You could be on the minimum wage for life or less in some jobs without even PAYE and that is very stressful. You will...
Check emails - I believe one has gone to BPP LPC students Sept 2021 starters to which you respond to order your elective module books (they had to use internet explorer for the pop up/survey to work rather than another browser)
Also do check the current rules as due to covid they have been changing from time to time. Eg my twins did the BPP PGDL last academic year and everyone (100%) had to do it online due to covid (even though booked in for the in person version). That is not of course the case this year as...
I am not sure (other than that showing the card etc is not counted within the 4 minutes). Probably showing the card will not take much time anyway.
One of my sons was saying last week it was a pity BPP have so many instructions but sometimes do not make some of the more obvious issues clear -...
Yet another announcement went up on the Hub on Friday 11th. There was nothing new about the exams in it. It did mention the Electives as follows and I only mention because it gives a few dates and mentions hard copy materials being posted (similar to the kind of materials I presume which...
If you want me to email it to you just send me an anonymous email address and I can do so as sometimes it takes a while for BPP hub queries to be handled and the exams are next week.
It is never easy to find. I believe it is on the Hub under "My Learning" then "Programme Information" then "Announcements" then "September 2021". In my view it would be much better if BPP also always sent these announcements by email to students at the same time. The fact you have to go in...
There are two announcements on the hub quite recently about the forthcoming exams next week (skills subjects) - dated 9th and 10th Feb. A few random points from that are:
- they say you should have received an email around 14 Jan with Panopto software link and account user name (BPP email...
Both twins passed writing and failed the practical research mock which is bit surprising as they usually pass things. I don't post their marks in general but this is just a mock etc. Hopefully they will do better in the real thing.
This is useful for those wondering about the consequences of...
The mock results for Practical legal research and writing are out I believe. They are on the hub under the Writing/PLR section under LPR writing/mock and then very last document on there.
My twins did the BPP PGDL entirely online (due to covid) and never met anyone else on the course. They are doing the BPP LPC in person this year and know the people in their group. However they have a friend doing it 100% online and that seems to be going fine. It is not the sort of thing like...
I will shut up in a minute but just noticed a BPP Announcement on the Hub about the timetables now being visible for everyone now (they had not been for all). We checked those and one SGS in my twins' case is no longer there they had been having one on 2 Feb of a same subject the week after. So...
Yes, Law Answered I have heard mentioned too. I think my twins have obtained Liam Porritt's LPC notes https://liamporritt.com/law-notes which they found useful (from what I see at a distance as a parent in the house).
On company law it was never part of the GDL until BPP's last year's PGDL...
I am just an interfering lawyer mother with twins on the LPC so not sure of the best resources to read but it is very good you are keen and want to read materials in advance. My twins found business L&P easier this year because they did company law the year before on the GDL so if you have done...
Hope it all went well today for everyone in the last core subjects exam today.
Paper 1 BLP was apparently harder than yesterday's first BLP exam and the twins said you had to think more. Hopefully they have still done okay.
The twins said afterwards that there may have been a reference to a...
h1, I didn't even know BPP had extended the end time by 30 mins but that feels very fair in the circumstances. In my post above I meant to type my twins did the paper from 10.05 (not 10.20) to 12.05 - ie they had the full two hours and I do not think the exam itself was too bad.
Anyway I...
Just in case of interest neither of my sons could log on at 9.50am yesterday for the Drafting exam. In the end they had to obtain the password from someone on the course and one of my sons could not even login to download the password protected paper due to BPP issues (our internet here was...
