You aer not too old. Also you have not applied to that many. I applied to many more during my LLB because getting one. I just kept going, loads and loads of rejections even after interviews.
You can do BBP's LPC online so perhaps you could continue but do it 100% online from Dublin and then see when you finish the course where you stand as regards the relative - may be different care can be set up for them by the time the online LPC ends.
Interesting. I just tried to check but am not sure if I was looking at last year or this eg Business Law - probably last year but I cannot remember if that 30 : 20 ratio (scenarios to MCQ was like last year)
"Each paper is worth 50 marks and will consist of a combination of multiple-choice...
BPP is the institution of choice for the biggets best law firms by the way so although they would not be where someone would do their first degree, they are the best of the best in a sense for the LPC so I would not be pu t off by reputation issues. 80% of LPC students use UoL or BPP so it is...
Do ask BPP about the make up of the 2022/23 LPC. The 2021/22 was open book (exams in the exam hall of proctored via webcam) which is a massive contrast with SQE1 I think; also this summer's BPP LPC tended to have most of the marks NOT multiple choice (although this may have changed for 2022/23).
If you decide to do the LPC rather than SQE (see other post above), I would not bother with the extra LLM part and just do the LPC without it unless you need it for funding reasons. I don't know what the online LPC is like but if you attend all theonline sessions you will probably do just as...
I think it is a bit intense, few holidays etc and it is easier if you just do the normal LPC instead unless there is some pressing reason you need to do it quicker.
I would get started ono it as you can get to know the other trainees in due course anyway. It is not really like going to university at 18 and making friends for life. Best to get on with it so it is over and done with quickly.
And finally..... the twins' LPC Certificates (the paper version of them) arrived by post today. That brings the LPC to a complete end for them. I cannot think of anything else that is outstanding. They have also done about two thirds of various parts of the PSC with BPP already too, one...
My twins did the LPC BPP mocks a year ago. I just cannot remember if they were harder than the real exams in January. I believe they both wished they had had a bit more time, but they did pass. The results were supposed to be out on 10 December, but in the end were issued a bit late in December...
The Professional Skills Course is not really "more exams". My sons have been doing it very recently. There is one exam only which you do on the afternoon of the third day of the Financial and Business Skills 3 day course (pass mark is 60%). There is no exam in anything else on the PSC - you...
Just to continue wittering on about LPC certs (my sons did not do the LLM).... BPP sent a transcript after the twins requested one. One received a normal transcript and an "SRA transcript" - so two password protected documents (the latter had more dates on). So the other twin asked for an SRA...
I thought I saw two certificates but am totally wrong. On the eportal where the certificates are stored there are two in our case - one for the postgraduate diploma in law (last year's PGDL) dated 2021 and then this year's LPC. So much for my supposed good attention to details.... Still no...
BPP h ave emailed my twins today to say they can register to access a weblink thing to see their online LPC cert. On that you can see the cert. but not the transcript (marks) promised within 6 weeks of end of July so they have raised a query about transcripts. I suppose the transcript might come...
My twins were LPC without LLM so finished a bit sooner. I suppose it is possible the transcript will be in with the certificates when they come in November.
(The LPC cert is important as when you are admitted as a solicitor you have to upload the certificate (and your professional skills course...
I know I am talking to myself here.... but anyone of last year's LPC cohort with BPP my sons were checking the position on transcripts on the Hub - transcripts of marks should have been out by now. They found these 3 statements so it sounds like there is a delay. (Certificates come later - see...
I am sure the 2021/22 LPC BPP students are long gone from this thread of 12 months ago, but if anyone is still here there is a recent BPP email (2 Sept) to the cohort including my twins. The essence is fill in the "survey" including your current address if you want a physical paper certificate...
I would get started and have time free after, rather than the other way round for those with that choice. That is also what one of my solicitor children did - gap year after the course (LPC in those days) and then TC.
On results and QWE/TCs the firms might well require SQE2 to be passed and...
