i would leave it. The only answer you’re likely to get is that they will let you know as soon as they have decided if it’s going to go ahead or not. Mine hasn’t been cancelled yet either, but realistically Boris Johnson just said to not go into work if you can work from home so I’m 99% certain...
Spoke to grad rec yesterday and it’s definitely on the cards that schemes might have to be cancelled. However, at least with mine I’ve been told that they won’t take such steps until they have worked out options for everyone on the scheme, so that was at least some reassurance there.
spoke to grad rec today about my spring scheme and was told it’s currently under review if it will go ahead or not. Since Easter is projected to be the peak I wouldn’t be surprised if schemes get cancelled, but grad rec can’t predict the future and they’ll do their best to come up with a...
I only heard back from a firm (silver circle) at the end of January with an AC invite after applying there last year in April and am still waiting to hear back from one firm I applied to last cycle in July which apparently is still reviewing. So in the grand scheme of things, I think they will...
Has anyone else received the email about Linklater’s spring scheme? I know it’s impossible to predict, but does anyone have any thoughts on if the VS gets cancelled, would they move us onto a different scheme or onto direct TC or is it just tough luck then?
I’d need to hear back in a week from now, so there’s some time. I just wondered if after a week or so I would
It’s semi urgent I suppose. I need to know in two weeks from now, so I don’t mind waiting, I just worry that they might not get back to me at all
hope yours went better than mine because that first question was so unexpected I had nothing to say and just rambled and couldn’t really recover after that. Definitely wouldn’t call those questions competency based. Oh well.
@Jessica Booker after emailing grad rec, how long would you advise to wait until following up with a call or an email? I emailed last Wednesday at 4pm (it’s about my VS with them) as I couldn’t get through. Thank you.
Ah thank you. Did you email grad recruitment or a specific person? I emailed the person I had spoken to previously yesterday, but not heard back yet. Maybe I have to give it a few days...
Has anyone ever gotten in touch with grad rec about something that is not the status of the application and did they come back to you (and how long did it take)?
I know the person at SPB who has final say on everyone making it onto their vac scheme. They have a bit of an odd application process, so PM me in case you want me to clarify the whole thing
According to the Links thread, they are trying to come back to everyone with the outcome of their application by the end of the week and have been sending out messages to applicants over the past few days
Hey, I completely understand how you feel, it’s such a difficult decision to make. Only you know how you feel about it and how prepared you feel for the interview. I’d say that Macfarlanes is one of the firms where you can’t reapply until a significant change in your circumstances after a failed...
Yes, they take 100 people for both intakes together and not everyone on the Winter Vac scheme got a TC, plus there are a limited number of TCs available outside of the VS. I do think there is some correlation between the VS and the amount of direct TCs and that might result in some people having...
They predominantly seem to be recruiting via their vac scheme now and they do highlight that there is the possibility of getting a TC for everyone on their VS, so based on that I’d assume that everyone who applied for the direct TC, might be slightly dependent on people’s success on the VS...
