My last message on this as it seems to have rattled the feathers of non law students.
My original post was regarding an open day my university law society are hosting with a firm. I stated it is corrupt. Myself and other students at my university have said this. 80% of the law society is ran by...
i beg to differ. It’s hard getting an open day. Of course not as hard as a vacation scheme but still competitive nonetheless. I’ve not heard from 2 firms. I wouldn’t diminish someone getting an open day. You only need 1 yes amongst the 10’s of No’s you’ll get.
Didn’t say they were easier degrees or not useful. My point was regarding the over-saturation of these degrees within my law society. They take the opportunities for themselves. Then coast the rest of their degree with a wealth of experience as I rough it in law struggling to differentiate...
I assume the shoe fits. However, I did not mean this as an egotistical statement. Something that is common in my university and many of us have voiced.
This specific firm that is hosting the open day has rejected me twice in the past month for their own open day. Is it a bad idea to apply for this as well. This application is done via the firm and not the society.
No I’m not, it’s sad to see other universities go through the same thing. Most of the exec are non law coasting away with their English and History degrees. As I rough it with law.
My university is holding an exclusive open day with a firm. And a few dinners with others. We have to apply through our law society but they are corrupt and take all the places for themselves and their friends.
Besides this would a firm be taking notes of students and looking out for their...
Sorry about your rejections. I will apply to some of the ones you mentioned in August. I enjoy how transparent you are. Do not like these rejections define your career in law you will get there.
Interviewer feedback may be taking longer to get. Sudden work load influx. busy graduate recruitment, this is her busiest time of year. Putting myself in your shoes in all honesty you’re probably average. They don’t want to reject you as you’ve passed to a good standard, what justification would...
They’re semi rolling. They review and process to VI. After the deadline those who have successfully passed the VI will move to written exercise. No offers are given before the deadline. If I’m correct.
I wanted to query something. I’ve seen it’s normal to reapply to firms if you’ve been rejected post VS. Why. Especially if this was only last cycle. Why would a firm give you the opportunity again when there are others who have not reached that stage yet. This may be pessimistic of me but I did...
Ask questions you want to know the answer to. everyone priorities different things when asking questions. Neurodiversity, growth, training for trainees, deals etc. what is it about the firm that interests you.
Is there anything in the application you made to the firm that you wish you had a...
