I now understand why people are worried about it on here! Thanks for clarifying everyone - I will try to allieviate future fears by explaining this is not a thing for law firms, just academics!
Just to stress, law firms will not be acting like academics in regards to this.
They will however be thinking about what you have done since your last application to keep developing your skills and to pursue the career.
That would explain it! Seems a really odd concept though - why can’t you reuse your own thinking? Most academics would lose most of their back catalogue if it applied to their academic writing!
Lots of people keep mentioning it lately. I wonder if this is one of the myths running round universities and particularly if people are paranoid about using things like AI.
This is not an issue at all.
You can demonstrate your interest in commercial law through other experiences outside of this internship and you can highlight your transferable skills you have gained from this internship.
Self-plagiarism is not a thing. It’s your content, even if you reuse it.
The issue with submitting the same application is you can’t expect the outcome to be any different this time around. If your application is the same, there is a strong chance you will be unsuccessful again. That is why it...
This topic is fine to use. Sometimes candidates focus on more academic topics connected to law and its not an issue to do so, as long as it comes from a genuine point of interest.
I think you need to take it more as informing someone of the topic though - the basis of your answer seems to be...

I am instead of I’m
I have instead of I’ve
Also ensure you are using U.K. rather than US spellings - recognised rather than recognized
If you talking about your work experience, then you wouldn’t need to include any reference to the work the firm you are applying to has done in this section.
If you want to include references to particular client work you have done in work experience sections, you need to consider any...
Definitely wait for a decision on your open day application. You'd easily have the whole of December (and maybe even more of November) to apply for the vacation scheme and with rolling recruitment, the vast majority of people will still apply in the last 2-3 weeks.
Firms won’t just go with the cheapest resource and are unlikely to undercut people with offers as they know there is a risk they will just leave quickly. It’s better to be as transparent as you can about these things to ensure you are going forward for the right roles. It is frustrating though...
N/A will not necessarily be helpful and can lead to applications being unsuccessful (unfortunately).
I would try to provide clarity both in terms of your current salary and expectations going forward instead. If your salary expectations are higher than what they can offer, then it’s not going...
