I saw that RS has represented both claimants and defendants in regulatory matters such as antitrust – is this common for Reed Smith, does this make a difference in terms of the firm’s capabilities, and do you think that it makes for more well-rounded individuals? Also, I wasn’t sure because of conflicting information online but does the firm offer a seat in antitrust and competition during the training contract?

Hi,

The commercial awareness question is about discussing a sector but I wondered thether it meant sector overall or can we be more specific? For instance, can we talk about the aviation sector to be more specific instead of just the transportation sector. Or do we have to focus on for instance, the transportation sector. Apologies, I was a bit confused by that.

Kind regards
Hi, you can pick either a broad sector like Transportation, or a specific sub-group within that sector like Aviation or Shipping, so yes, you can talk about Aviation.

Yes, as far as I'm aware this is relatively common for us - you can read more detailed information about our recent Antitrust and Competition work here: https://www.reedsmith.com/en/capabi...-and-investigations/antitrust-and-competition

We do offer TC seat in this area currently.

Hello,

Thank you for the info session yesterday - I felt like I learned a lot more about Reed Smith! I'm wondering if the firm encourages applications from those who attended undergrad/grad school outside of the UK. If so, do you have any advice on how these applicants can best present their stories in their applications? Are there any additional steps they should consider taking during the application process? Thank you so much for your time.

Yes, we don't take the university attended into account so you're absolutely welcome to apply. There isn't really anything different you'd need to do in order to apply or any other steps required.
