Oh really? They're supposed to start Skype interviews from the 6th Feb (according to their grad rec page) so I thought they would have finished all tests by now! When's your deadline?
Just submitted the Watson Glaser test for my application. It was practically the same as the one I did for Mills & Reeve. I passed the benchmark for that one, so it was a little distracting this time because I felt like I was trying to think what I answered for them last time!
I managed to use an example which highlighted all four values in practice, although I didn't necessarily list them by name.
I haven't actually had a response since submitting though, so I'm not exactly in a position to say whether that is the way to go or not...
I doubt it differs massively from other critical thinking tests, like the Watson Glaser. Maybe it includes verbal/numeric reasoning and/or situational judgement, but you can find plenty of free practice tests for these things individually online.
I'm not holding my breath for DLA because I really panicked doing the WG test.
I got shortlisted for Mills & Reeve. I would have been devastated if I hadn't gotten through, to be honest! Need to pluck up the courage to do the WG by Tuesday...
Jesus... I'm not sure that there are 17 firms I would legitimately want to work for! My original list had 12 but I weeded a few out when it came to getting the applications together.
Have you heard back from any of them?
I applied for both DLA and Pinsents way back in September because I believed both were rolling! In fact of the eight vac scheme applications that I have submitted, I only got my first actual response today (from Mills & Reeve)! The suspense is killing me haha
Well "commercial law" covers everything relating to commerce, business, sales, trade etc. A commercial law firm will usually specialise in numerous sectors or practice areas within that very wide umbrella.
Corporate law as a practice area relates to corporate matters such as shareholders...
I used an example which was heavy on the "action" and "result" of the STAR approach, but also gave me the opportunity to bring key strengths and competencies into it.
I think every answer is going to be unique, it just depends on how you write about it.
I
I did the full count for the two questions I considered most important (why PM? & why commercial law?). The others I used maybe two thirds to three quarters. I'm not sure its actually possibly to use 4000 characters for hobbies without waffling...
Still waiting too! Applied at the end of September and did the WG at the start of October (think I did really badly). When I went to check the status of my application mid December it came up that I had a couple of required boxes not ticked, so I'm not sure if it hadn't completely submitted-...
