I think an interesting approach here is to think about what it is that Asos and Boohoo are actually buying. They're not particularly interested in the physical assets, I doubt they're even that interested in the supply chain and would imagine there will be some kind of rationalisation down the...
Absolutely but with the SPAC boom I'd recommend trying to get more specific about it and targeting sub-trends. Big ones off the top of my head are changes to how the sponsor 'promote' is structured to incentivise high quality acquisitions, US SPACs gearing up to hunt European assets and how...
Can't do maths.
In all seriousness I think one thing about corporate law vs other corporate endeavours is about the nature of the role in society and this really comes through in pro bono work. In what other corporate profession are you encouraged to spend a meaningful amount of time every...
On the CC debacle, as both an old(er) and foreign applicant I know just how hard this process can be and that firms throwing up even more barriers is frustrating.
But please...
For what it's worth they apparently look at things quite holistically and WG isn't necessarily a make-or-break. There's a dedicated Links thread from the 2019-20 cycle that's still active, it's mentioned there that offers have been given to people who were in 20th percentile on WG while people...
I suspect that for most of them who knew what reddit was before this started, the (private) stance will be that this is very, very funny. I wouldn't suggest having a go about how hedge funds are evil vultures who deserve what they're getting, but any reasonable appraisal of the situation should...

Haven't had that experience but given the very nature of mitigating circumstances I can't imagine it would be best practice to grill candidates around that during interview.
@Jessica Booker re: foreign applicants, what should be put in for 'Do you have/require the right to work in the UK?' on vac scheme applications? I do currently have the right to work for vac scheme purposes under my student visa, but it's hard to say what my position will be when it comes time...
The very fact of having gone through the application process should be ample evidence of resilience, in my opinion.
This is ultimately a character question, so I think really any instance where you've had some kind of difficulty and carried on will suffice, it doesn't need to be anything...
Not a stupid question at all.
In my view it's actually an extremely difficult question because it is horrendously broad and treats 'the legal industry' as some monolith, which it isn't - as firms like to remind us when saying that answers should be meticulously tailored to their particular...
I would give some background on why commercial law generally and then focus on what you like about the firm's training/work/opportunities. If 'why law' isn't covered elsewhere i wouldn't take it as read
