Total silence since applying 13th Dec. Their brochure says telephone interviews run through Jan so I would expect responses to start coming in the next week or two.
Agree with this. I would expect most interviewers to be more interested in why you studied what you *did* study, what you got out of that and why you are now pursuing law than why you didn't study law in the first place.
Definitely second using that video as a touchpoint when considering answers, though I agree with the above that being totally honest (including with yourself) is the best way to go - there were a couple instances where I thought 'well, doing X sounds good but in reality I think I would do Y' and...
Re: Sidley I would focus on justifying why those qualities make a successful lawyer, rather than relating them to yourself. If you can draft your work experience or something like that in a way which shows you have those qualities, that wouldn't hurt if you really want to get it in there...
Has anyone got any stories of fumbling part of a VI and still progressing? Had my first ever this morning, with one really rough Q (messy answer, awkward silence at the end) but the second I think went really well. Trying to stay hopeful.
Slightly different scenario but my education including undergrad was overseas and didn't fit the form, spoke to grad rec and they said to just stick it on my CV. Suspect this would suffice for A levels as well if there isn't a suitable input on their form.
