Just a little vent, but how do you all deal with useless feedback from grad rec at firms? I had an AC recently that came to nothing, but the feedback call I had was almost frustrating in its uselessness.
The woman I spoke to told me the drafting exercise was "unique to [the firm]" so couldn't...
Did everyone's non-PFO PFO from BDB Pitmans include the "As we were impressed with your application and video interview..." line/bits about the alternative events? Just trying to gauge if it was a generic platitude to soften the blow of having spent lots of time and effort for nothing or genuine.
That's amazing, congrats!! I love reading posts like this because I'm definitely in the "lol give up it's not for you" stage of the application cycle so hearing your perseverance paid off is so inspiring.
I hunted around online but couldn't find an answer to this question either. It appears to be unlimited but I set a self-imposed limit to make sure I wasn't writing just for the sake of writing.
Honestly really admire those of you with the mental fortitude to check if anyone on LinkedIn has offers. This forum makes me insane enough most of the time.
I always struggle with this, too. I'm also keen to get into a pretty niche area of the law but thought the general advice was to avoid talking about it if the firm don't offer training in that area and/or don't regard it as a growth area. I always think my interest is something that sets me...
I have a connection at a silver circle who reviewed my application for their winter vac scheme and said it looked really strong/helped with "improvements" but I still got a post-app PFO so take from that what you will! I do agree though that unless you have a connection most people just don't...
I was so tempted for a second to write a full essay about why the careers advisor bit of this is nonsense but I foresee it devolving into W&C 2.0 drama.
Every time I've sat down to record a VI this week I've looked at myself in the silly little camera app and just closed the interview because the burnout is so real. How many more times can I convince my laptop about my motivations for a career in the law pleeeease 😭

I disagree, I don't think it means that at all. It says on their website that they recruit on a rolling basis - I only completed the job sim a week and a half ago and saw someone get an AC a couple of days later so I think until you hear from them you shouldn't assume!
