Just a question on using the STAR structure, would you use it for every single point, so for example discuss a particular instance in which you made a difference as social secretary of a uni society?

I think dedicating your weekends to apps is the best way to go about it. And scheduling 1-2 hours in weekday evenings if possible - I have a full time job now so this definitely helps me.
I totally understand where you're coming from as I'm in a similar boat myself. But I wouldn't say it's a disadvantage, as there are plenty of other things you can bring to the table so to speak. E.g. if they have a strong private equity practice, you could go to a talk or something about that...
The basic structure I've been told to use is:
why law
why this firm in particular (and can include why you would want to train there too as firms like W&C, Jones Day want to see this)
why you
I got an interview at Jones Day based on that structure if that helps!
Being proactive, project management, problem-solving. And because it's a small firm, the teams will be much smaller to, so being able to take greater ownership of tasks.
Thank you! I have a lot of work experience as I've worked since I was about 17, but naturally not all of that is relevant. My main concern was including extra-curriculars. But you make a very good point
Just a question regarding those firms that require you to submit a CV. Is it better to have a one page CV or 2? I'd drafted one of 2 pages, but sent it to my careers advisor at uni and she insisted it had to be 1...
