    From my experience, if they're your personal tutor/course director etc. then they will have experience with providing references for candidates so this shouldn't be a problem. When deciding who to pick, go with someone who knows you well enough, and hopefully understands your career...

    Hello. I’m also applying to Skadden and this was my approach. I tend to structure my cover letters: why law, why x firm, why me. Doing it in 300 words is tough but doable
