Has anyone received the second set of questions at all? I did the first bit and passed the online test but have heard absolutely nothing since. I remember them saying they'd be back in touch with the next questions by the end of the month though.
I can't give you any tips but can I ask when you applied? I put mine in pretty close to the deadline so I'm quite curious to know what my chances of it actually being taken seriously are.
Totally unrelated to your comment but I just wanted to say that I asked you a few weeks ago about a tricky cover letter-style application question and your advice got me through to my first vac scheme interview of the cycle, which I had yesterday! Thank you so much for all of your insight! It is...
Hi Jessica,
I've been totally stumped by parts of this question.
Please explain in not more than 600 words why you wish to train at our firm, why we should invest in your career, and what contribution you might expect to make to the business both during your training contract and (if retained)...
Hi Jessica, I'm currently answering this question:
What do you consider to be the key attributes of a lawyer in business? What kind of qualities and expertise do you think they should have? Can you give us an example of where you have demonstrated these qualities?
Do you think it would be...
What is the deal with Reed Smith's app form? Am I going nuts? It feels like they've missed out a section as the only questions seem to be about extracurricular activities. Do we just have to demonstrate all of our skills etc in the work experience sections?
Got my first rejection of the 2023 cycle from Jones Day. Very quick turnaround as I only applied on Nov 27th. Maybe I took a little too much inspiration from its name by completing my app in just one day...
So for the sectors/departments question, does 'departments' refer to the way BCLP has grouped its various practices (i.e. Tax & Private Client work are under one group that doesn't really fall into a sector) or is it just another word for sectors?
Thanks for letting us know. How did you get ahold of this info? When I emailed Grad Rec I was given a very mysterious answer which deliberately did not specify which testing provider was used, and only that you can practice 'verbal and numerical tests' online.
Does anyone have any clue what BCLP is doing in regards to online tests? Their 2021 brochure says they have an online test but I'm struggling to find details and whether it differs from the one listed above.
I have no idea and would like to know also - I think the answer may be to send graduate recruitment an email. They will expect that people will want to prepare for it, so unless they deliberately want to be difficult I doubt they will keep that info secret!
