Ah that sucks! I have an assignment due on the 18th which I won't be able to start until mid next week, so it's not ideal for me either really!
Which day did you go for?
It's definitely a balancing act. I started with a list of 12 firms I intended on applying to this year. But when I started receiving VI invites from my earlier applications, I realised I just wasn't going to have the time to complete all of the others to a good standard, on top of working and...
Not necessarily. It may be taking them a while, or you may be in the "maybe" group of candidates that they will contact if others decline an offer. But it's not a no until it's a no. :)
I'll give you the AC instead. 😅
The AG assessment centre seems pretty full on, so I wouldn't really want to try and do it in the morning and then end up completely drained for my M&R interview in the afternoon. It's tough though because I really like both firms...
Just received an AC invite for Addleshaw Goddard (completed the VI two weeks ago). Unfortunately the date in the email is next Tuesday and I have a post AC partner interview with another firm on that date. :( Have asked if there are any alternative dates available.
Don't be so hard on yourself. It's especially competitive right now and there are *such* small margins between proceeding to the next stage and just missing out. If you continue to create opportunities for yourself - and reflect on what you can improve/do differently along the way - you will be...
Which firm is it? I'm sure if you did some digging, you could find some other reasons why you'd want to apply. With regards to the global aspect, what is it about the global nature of a firm that makes you want to work there?
I can relate completely because this was exactly how I felt this time last week. I did five VIs, assessment centres and partner interviews in a period of just over a week. It was feeling like a full time job and I was on edge for much of the time.
The only thing I can really say is that you are...
It's probably because asking for updates is the only thing that we can do as applicants which feels like being proactive. I agree that it isn't necessarily healthy but it's understandable - we're all nervous and anxious, just wanting to hear back. A little empathy would not go amiss.
Hey, I applied for the health stream in Liverpool.
I've done the interview twice now (I did it last year also). I think the main thing is to keep calm. It's a *very* quick interview - there's no small talk or chat, you get asked a question immediately after they introduce themselves. That's...
I think that Friday was kept as an alternative. A girl in my group had really bad connection and kept dropping out. Then we got told by one of the GR that she would be joining them on Friday instead of continuing with us.
I don't know how many slots they had today though. Maybe just the morning...
Honestly, I thought my partner interview with Pinsent Masons went badly. I got choked up talking about my childhood (wasn't prepared for the question) and ended up making jokes to lighten the mood, talking about RuPaul and Britney Spears. And yet by some miracle I got the scheme. So don't write...
