That's cause I made it up just now, but - Latham, Kirkland, Weil
Ofc there are other outfits both UK and American with serious PE offerings but those three have a particular stature at the top of the market for corporate PE work (cf. ex. Travers which dominates mid market, Ropes where...
I don't think that's really quantifiable in a useful way. Average apps is probably like 10-20 per cycle, but I've done as few as 3 in my first cycle and have seen people do like 40 (built different). I know someone who did I think 3 - to the Magic Triangle PE firms - got 1 interview and nabbed...
No word count for anything on TS app. My approach has been to pilfer what I wrote for similar questions on apps with 250/300 w/c and pad them out a little with some choice reflections on hard graft or playing well with others or whatever applies. Reckon anything 200-400 is fine, but past ~300...
Another approach could be to look at relatively young, growing industry segments where Fladgates's expertise would translate well. Pick out a few companies who are leading the pack, and the argument is that working for them would establish the firm as an expert advisor in that sector. Again...
I don't know much about Fladgates so can't really give an in depth answer but looking them up I noticed that they're ranked in some relatively niche areas (gambling and Islamic finance, strange bedfellows as they are, stood out to me). I'd look at who some major players are in the industries...
For anyone finding themselves exasperated with the VS/TC process, especially those who are still in uni who may not know this, I just want to let you know that private practice training is not the be-all-end-all. Opportunities to qualify in-house are at unprecedented levels, and the paralegal...
Haven't done kennedys but did Links and Latham on Capp. If you've done other SSTs/SJTs, they tend to all be quite similar. Capp is usually modular, there are a series of sections that you do in order but that are kind of discrete units. Otherwise the only thing in Capp that I haven't seen...
Don't think there's a new consolidated list but the one from last year(?) still seems fairly accurate. All MC recruit meaningfully for direct TC, as do most firms with intakes >30-40. Smaller intakes lean more heavily on vac schemes though I know that SullCrom, at least, reserves a couple direct...
If they let you and you want to, sure. As noted above, some don't re-interview - I think this is fairly common across MC and large-intake firms generally (small-intake firms tend to be more forgiving) but you'd have to dig up the particular firm's policy or email their grad rec.
In the interest...
There are actually a couple firms that set up programmes to have some associates undertake multi-year stints at civil rights orgs in the wake of George Floyd's murder (I want to say Orrick and Freshfields but I'm hazy on that) - so you never know!
