It depends on the firm, some firms will call you an hour/two hours later, others after three weeks. It really depends. I would just wait for their call/email which I am sure it will come very soon.
If you have not heard 2/3 weeks after the period they have indicated to you, then I would email...
I honestly think it is a very interesting answer and it gives a perspective of your interests too which never hurts! I am sure they will appreciate it a lot.
You need to remember that interviewers, most of the time, will not show you what they think so it is really difficult to infer something...
Congratulations on the offer!!
And yes, Goodwin offered an hotel to the vacation schemers who did not have accommodation, I do not know if your firm does it though, it might be worth asking them.
I think you can definitely mention this practice area as one of the reasons why you want to join the firm.
I would just be wary to also mention the strongest practice areas of the firm because otherwise they might question why you applied to this firm to do this practice area when other firms...
I am a bit uncertain as to what you mean, is it that you have to pitch a client to the firm or pitch the firm to a new client?
I am assuming you mean the first, I personally would structure it in this way:
Choose a client within a sector that is quite established might be more interesting to...
It is really hard to tell unfortunately but unless you have not received a formal rejection, it means you are still under consideration so I would not look too much into this as they are probably extremely busy with assessment centres.
Wait until the end of this week and if you did not hear by...
I would potentially focus on you, discussing your experiences, both academic and professional, and how those will help you become a successful future trainee at the firm specifically.
I would also discuss some features of training at the firm which you might not have been able to discuss in...
I think that until you do not receive a response it is still good news so I would not worry unless you received an outright rejections!
I know it is easier said than done but there is nothing you can do at this stage to prevent this from happening unfortunately!
I think that they are referring to the opportunity you are applying. If you are applying to a vacation scheme, then they are referring to the challenges you might face on the vacation scheme. However, if you are applying for the direct training contract, then I would talk about the difficulties...
It is very firm specific unfortunately. I heard that some firms send emails whilst others call. I think it really depends but I did hear that the feedbacks are not as exhaustive.
If they do not have a policy where you cannot apply I think they you can, especially because usually law firms do not want you to reapply if you have been invited to assessment centre.
So, in my opinion, you can apply this year!
They are but applying never hurts as this year's cohort might not be up their standards so I would always try my best and apply anyway as you might be lucky. If you do not apply, you will definitely not going to be considered. If you do, there is a chance, even small, it is still a chance worth...
What the FAQ suggest will definitely deter me from applying I will be honest, however you have to try otherwise you will never know if you can be successful or not. It might work for you as they might not like anyone on the vacation scheme, this usually happens.
I think that you should take a...
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with many on this forum as I think it will be very helpful!
You should be so proud of the milestones you have achieved such as getting an assessment centre at CC, which is so hard to get.
Your determination will get you far in life and this post...
It is firm specific so to know this for sure I would contact someone who did the vacation scheme at your same firm so you have a more appropriate response.
However, generally it can vary from hearing back on the last day of the vacation scheme to a month and a half after the scheme.
