Making the move from NQ Solicitor to in house counsel

I’ve recently qualified and I’m working with a law firm who have a strong presence in banking, bridging finance and secured lending. I thoroughly enjoyed these transactions on my training so I’m excited to get more experience and specialise on these as a Solicitor In terms of a longer term...

Please be brutally honest, should I give up on becoming a solicitor at a MC/Top Uk law firm

I got a low 50 in equity & trusts, graduated from Exe a few years back and am 2 months off qualifying. Nobody has ever mentioned it but instead Partners/interviewers have commented that my grades are exceptional. Also, you don't necessarily need to put all of your module marks in your CV What I...

Are my alevels going to hold me back?

TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2022-23

More context is needed for this one. Is it a minority shareholder, if so, then drag along rights? Perfectly entitled to not sell their shares if they're not getting fair value

What has been your greatest success?

look at what the firm's 'key competencies are', and if not, consider generally for trainees. Find ANY achievement, team success, something where you get a job done and there's been obstacles. NQ positions, recruiters applying 2022

I'm returning to the TCLA forums for the first time since I received my TC offer back in April 2021 and started in September 2021. The less talked about step in the lawyer career path however, is life after the TC. Some folks will love their firms, seats, departments etc and will looking for...

TCLA General Discussion Thread #2 (2021)

That's quite a cruel question to ask at an entry level? In the utmost simple terms and without knowing any context, with a share purchase, you're purchasing the company as a whole with all its assets and liabilities. This could potentially be costly depending on the company's valuation and...

Maybe twist it round to describe an achievement you're proud of. Then take that example and structure your answer using the standard STAR method
