Although mitigating circumstances can be considered, I would personally suggest waiting until you have your final year grades before applying. Getting your grades back up to first year level will verify there were mitigating circumstances as it can be seen there was a blip in performance...
Always update and refine your application. You cannot assume because an application was successful last time, it will be again. It does not mean you have to change everything - things like your work experience descriptions are likely to be the same. But you need to demonstrate growth and...
It is ultimately never too late all the time applications are open.
If you can apply in the first two thirds of an application window you will be very safe. If you apply 2-3 weeks before a deadline you’ll most likely be safe too.
I know the Community team will be able to give you some great advice, but this thread will be a great starting point too:

I don't think it is worthwhile doing SQE1 on top of the LPC. You'd still have to declare your LPC results for most firms.
It will depend on the firm - some firms set an LPC requirement for their sponsored students, and if they do they would apply the same criteria to anyone who self-funded. But...
I would contact the firm to check but if there it maybe that this is the only time they have available, and so I would consider booking in for this if you are available for then. If you are not, then definitely contact the firm to see if they will add any additional dates.
90%+ of your CV will not be tailored to the firm as it should just show the best evidence of your experiences to date.
However, the 10% that can be tailored can be done by:
Prioritising content that is more focused on elements that align to the firm's work - e.g. if you did a vacation scheme...
Do you have any formal documents from your school (eg an email or letter) that confirmed your grades? If so, you could also include something like this while you get the exam board to replace your certificates.
I would go ahead with the call - this is not a job offer (yet) and so I would wait until you have had the initial call and potentially even gone through the recruitment process and see if you get an offer before assuming this may be an issue. The recruitment process itself may give you an...
Alice won't be actively on the forums these days (the joys of now being an Associate at Freshfields) but it may be that one of our current community assistants could help with this instead. Feel free to post some details of your answer and it maybe that the team can give you some quick...
I’d try to make the summer scheme work. If they don’t do direct TC, I doubt they would make an exception unfortunately or would at least make you wait for a direct TC process until their vac scheme concluded.
You might as well go to the AC and see how you get on. If you get an offer, you can...
Could you not do the summer scheme? That would be nearly six months after your graduate scheme starts.
I would ask to move to summer and then try and work out how to manage it if you got an offer with your future employer
I would try to focus on one example where the firm is asking for "a specific instance" - this suggests they just want one example. I think with the online classes, have you had to utilise the technology yourself? I would be concerned that with online classes it is more the functionality the...
I don't think the firm would run a virtual programme if they felt candidates would be disadvantaged compared to in-person attendees, so I wouldn't worry about this.
