Generally, I would recommend prose over bullet points. If you have a lot to talk about, focus on the most complex responsibilities or those that were most challenging.
No - you won’t be eligible for the vacation scheme unfortunately. I think the wording for the graduate workshop is just a mistake with referring to the summer vacation scheme.
If you have emailed twice, I don’t think there is value in emailing again. I don’t think there is anything to worry about - I suspect they will come back to you to confirm detail in time.
You don’t have to mention why the development interests you (as it is not asked) but I have seen people weave this briefly into their answer at the same time.
I would focus more on how it will impact clients rather than how Skadden could help, as the latter is not being asked in the question...
I would personally not include them in cover letters or personal statements but include them elsewhere. In the Freshfields form I think there is somewhere else to provide such details and if not, you could always send them as a seperate email after applying rather than putting them into a cover...
It depends which vacancy you are applying to. Some you will need to be a graduate and if a non-law graduate, have completed the GDL too. Which vacancy are you considering?
I personally don’t know of any firms that allow this - I would expect most firms to only allow one application per type of programme per cycle or one application only per cycle across all programmes.
Hi there - unfortunately we cannot review both sections as part of one review. It would either be the application question or the work experience section, but not both.
Do you really need to reference all three people for each reason? I would expect 1-2 references to be sufficient, otherwise there is a risk that it comes across more what you have been told by others rather than your motivations for the firm.
I know there is a lot going on at the firm as they move to the Broadfield brand - so it maybe delayed because of that. I would drop them an email and see if they can give you any insight via there.
Some interesting news for those considering Herbert Smith Freehills. I feel old as I remember their first merger!

1) I don't think you have to compare firms but I do think you have to be specific in why the firm is different to others you have applied to.
3) No - I don't think they need to be connected, but it won't be an issue if they are at the same time.
I don't think it will work that way unfortunately as they will have processed your first application on some level and therefore it will have been considered. I think if you reapplied, you would be automatically rejected for a second application within the same cycle/for the same vacancy.
