The waiting is awful, I'm not blessed with patience 😂 but if you are looking for a distraction Inventing Anna on Netflix is working for me and looks like I may end up binge watching it in one sitting
Just to add to this and hopefully add a bit more relief every firm that I have progressed beyond the initial application I have never met in person or had any connection to!
I’ve got past the initial sift with a few. Not the MC but other city firms that have a particular sector strength in areas I have a clear demonstrated interest in through both my education and work history. For context I’m late 20s and graduated from undergrad a few years ago now.
For me answering this question took honest reflection on why my performance had been lower than expected and out of line with my other grades. it would have been easy to blame the fact it was a closed book exam in June when then teaching ended in December but that wasn't the real issue. I...
I'm not a recruiter but I don't think one 2.2 grade in isolation would be an immediate no for an applicant if they met the academic criteria, however I wouldn't describe the subject as naff in an interview if questioned on it. I have been questioned on my lowest grade in an interview and gave a...
Although on paper the odds might look better I'm not sure how successful this approach would be. How can you demonstrate how passionate you are for that job and that TC when the reality is that you are not you just want any TC. I can say that I get a lot more success with my apps when I can...
I have really struggled trying to get to the why of this as well so will be following anyone else's input with interest.
From my reading around this is seems like it is a relatively new (in terms of law anyway) quirk. So it cannot be said that it is a historical issue that has carried over as...
I don't have any advice regarding the SQE but I do have experience of working whilst studying. I currently work full time as a paralegal in-house for a large multinational company and have a second part time job and undertake the LPC on a part time basis. I'm not going to sugar coat it working...
Yes! The majority of my apps are direct TC I only apply to VS where it’s a firm that only hires from VS. I have 3 years paralegal experience and no VSs. Had an AC today for direct TC and reached final stage for one just before Xmas before a final stage rejection.
This is a very eloquent way of putting it! Although I grew up in a very low income household, and left home very young due to family instability I also grew up in a home discussing current affairs and politics, not over the dinner table because we didn't have space for one and we very rarely ate...
Literally just finished it! A huge benefit of virtual ACs is that I can immediately sit on my couch and pour a large glass of wine to decompress with!
I think it went well, guess now its wait to hear the outcome! I'm not so sure about the WG element - does anyone know if we can request our score?
I answered this on the previous page of this thread - there is no interview at this stage. My AC is later today so I can login to the platform and see my schedule which only contains preparation time for the commercial exercise, the commercial exercise and the Watson Glaser.
Has anyone done the OC assessment centre yet? Mine is tomorrow afternoon and I’m quite nervous about it - the previous interviews I’ve done haven’t actually involved an AC!
