Give them a call tomorrow and explain you have an expiring TC offer so just keen to understand when you might hear back.
I actually called them a few minutes ago and it went to voicemail- they encouraged me to leave name and number and they should get back to me(as I've explained my situation on voicemail)

Thanks for this suggestion though :)

Has anyone done the job simulation for Deloitte? I finished mine over an hour ago and it’s still stuck on trying to upload my video responses 😳

I'm really struggling with this competency question:

Describe a time you explained a difficult commercial concept to someone.

Has anyone been asked this and have an example of what they said so that I can try and think of an answer?
@Jessica Booker would love to hear your thoughts too! :)

It’s not a question I have asked before. I often ask someone to explain something complex in the most simplistic/concise way in an interview, but this typically isn’t a commercial context.

Is this an application or interview question?

It's an interview question, I believe someone has been asked it before at an Ashurst interview which I'm currently prepping for.

Really struggling to draw out examples from my work experience for this one. I have quite a variety of legal/non legal work experience e.g experience in-house (non-commercial), a vac scheme at a City law firm, volunteered for CAB, worked at a high street bank for a summer, but really finding it difficult to think of how any of this would apply to this kind of question.

Are you considering 'commercial concept' quite widely? Note, this need not be something overly technical or related to commercial law. I would imagine there may have been scope for this at CAB or your other experiences, as it seems like you have a lot there!

Hi all, I have just got an email from Slaughter and May inviting me to interview and was wondering if anyone knew how they worked, if anything has changed since the last cycle, or anything else really. I would be eternally grateful :)

Also for reference I didn't include their address or my address on my cover letter if that helps queries from the other day.
    Hey - congratulations! :)

Was this for the March 2024 law TC?

    Thanks @Jaysen

Do you think explaining something in relation to consumer rights to a client at CAB would be okay? I did a few things in relation to immigration appeals and applications but don’t think the ‘commercial concept’ is there?

In your summer job in a high street bank, did you have to explain financial products to customers?

@Jaysen Hi, how would one get the future trainee badge? I received a TC a few months ago, following a VS, and thought to use TCLA again(I used it a lot during the start of the last cycle, but forgot my account details). Would love to help others and detail my experience! Thanks :)

Amazing news, congratulations on the TC :).

Of course - If you want to request access to our Trainee Forum here, you will then receive a PM from me for verification. We'll then issue you a badge!

Moreover, the firm’s breadth of expertise would allow me the freedom to discover where I want to specialise, whilst providing certainty that I would qualify into a market-leading practice regardless of my final choice.

I am going round and round in circles on this grammar for this sentence. Can anyone else weigh in and tell me where they would put commas?
