KENNEDYS SQE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Does anyone know if Kennedys Leeds 2021 TC only applies to people with the LPC already completed?

I'm really confused because the alternative is 2022/23 which has a deadline of 31st December - which doesn't make a great deal of sense because this wouldn't allow a candidate to complete the LPC in time for 2022 start date - which would be my preferred start date.

A candidate could complete the LPC between now and 2022 if the start date is in the late summer/early Autumn. But it also might be for their SQE programme which won't require the LPC anyway.

Hi Jessica,

Thanks for responding. This specifically states it's for their LPC route, not the SQE programme. They pay for your funding if you have not yet started the LPC - how would that work for 2022 if interviews aren't taking place until after December (which is their deadline)?

They would probably refund the LPC fees. Look carefully at their wording on the website to see if they reimburse LPC fees. It maybe the case with this though that they are only considering self funders and that they don’t reimburse LPC fees if you start the course of your own accord.

The exact wording is

"Before starting your training contract, we ask our future trainees to attend the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and where applicable the Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL) at BPP. We will fund your course fees for the LPC and PGDL and provide a maintenance grant during these study periods. "

It will be different if you are starting the course of your own accord though. Probably worthwhile speaking to the firm to see if you can get clarity on that.
