does anyone know how many people pass the assessment centre compared to how many positions there are?
No one will know this apart from the recruitment team. Technically everyone could pass, but they would just offer the strongest people for the number of vacancies they have.

    Hi all,

I am patiently waiting to hear back from GLD today and was wondering if anyone had information regarding moving from Public Sector to Private Sector upon qualification? I know of many people having done the opposite but just wanted to check from public to private.

Many thanks and good luck :D

It is far less likely and probably only likely to happen with firms that have a very strong focus on public sector clients.

Hi and congratulations to those who have an offer! I have an offer too for GLD and have created a group chat (with people I've found on Student Room) if you fancy being added to the group? I don't know if I can message you the link on here but if you're interested feel free to message me on here and I'll try to send it. Alternatively, just look up "GLS / GLP Legal Trainee Scheme 2021" on Student Room as I've made a post about it on there and can message you through that platform.

    Hi All
I know this thread is really old but does anyone who was successful in securing a role with the GLD have any experience of working in their commercial law team? I am applying as a NQ and have been advised that I will be expected to complete a written exercise. I am guessing this will be in relation to a procurement contract issue (as the work is purely transactional) and therefore, I would need to identify and advise upon the legal risks. Sadly, my training with my firm has not been the best and despite my best efforts, I feel under prepared to embark on a career in commercial law even though this is my preferred area of specialism. My question here is, is there anything in particular I should be mindful of given this is a government department rather than practice practise when identifying and advising on risks? Any hints/tips would be appreciated as this is completely new to me.

    Thanks in advance.

in relation to the assessment centre do you type your answer in to Tazio or can you do it in word? I'm just more comfortable with word?
    Thanks
Hi not sure if you've done your assessment but when do you recieve the zoom link, I'm yet to recieve mine.

Also any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated if already completed.

    Thanks!
