I just received an email saying that I have successfully passed the job simulation. Following that they are in the process of shortlisting candidates and they will get back to me by Friday December 13th.

Edit: I guess its time to start hearing back for those of us still waiting.

I think shortlisting does not mean that I, or others who received the same message as me, are through. They will just pick from, for example, 100 out of the 200 that passed.

That’s weird because my email from them just says that I’ve passed the job simulation and will be invited to an assessment centre, just that they will let me know what day by 13 Dec.

No mention of shortlisting

I think there are different emails - those that are definitely through and those that have passed but haven't been decided on yet. It's quite common for Deloitte to keep people 'on hold' even if they pass the simulation (according to wikijob forum)

This makes sense! I received a different e-mail today (having done not so well in the job simulation) saying "We’re getting in touch to provide you with an update on your Summer Vacation Scheme application. Thank you again for taking the time to complete the Job Simulation, we are currently processing applications and will be in a position to update you on next steps and whether you have secured a place on our final stage assessment by Monday 23 December." so I'm probably in the reserve of the reserve group. Good luck to you all x

I've just heard back from Deloitte and it's very frustrating.

Basically -- they are unable to accept me because I've already completed the LPC. They are only interested in candidates who will be doing the SQE route and apparently the LPC disqualifies me from this.

Is that fair of them to do? It actually feels like it's inconsistent with the Law Society's transition period, no?

Entirely fair given that their training contract is a three-year programme that incorporates the new SQE. It says that on their website.

    Hey!

I am not entirely sure having taken the LPC disqualifies you from sitting the SQE. The LPC is a course, not a certified exam like the SQE.

There may be confusion regarding this, so it’s worth following up through if you are personally willing to qualify through the SQE and Deloitte’s three year scheme.

Again, my personal thoughts, and not advice.

Has anyone heard from Deloitte? I was told they would let me know by 13th December but only got asked to fill in my professional qualifications to complete my applications...

    Thanks LawDudeForce

I have asked the Deloitte recruitment specialist to offer me feedback on the application. He went back and forth with his team several times and eventually decided that in their training contract, having the LPC was a disqualifying factor. I assure you that I offered multiple times to write the SQE and qualify through their scheme if it was required, but this was still a non-starter.

I am sorry - that is really annoying. It is not really a good way to handle this...

My response was to send a polite email letting them know that feedback on the application would be something very valuable to me.

Maybe I can get something constructive out of this experience?

    Hi everyone,

I am looking for some insight from someone who has completed the job simulation part of the application please.

I found this website that outlines every question in detail, I was wondering if you could take a look and just confirm it is not way off! I think if not then it is a great resource for anyone else who has to complete this stage.

    https://gradinsight.co.uk/deloitte-job-simulation/

    Thanks!
