Could you please tell me what free tests you have used to practice the WG? I got invited to do Bakers WG but I haven't passed the test before. Thanks in advance

They are the ones that's really helped me. You should also check out law firms' websites; Hogan Lovells, Clifford Chance, Linklaters all have practice tests on their grad recruit website.

Hi @LilLauLLB what are your thoughts on jobtestprep? I've heard their questions are a bit harder :/

Oh yes, I forgot to link them. The free test from them is fine, I didn't find them to be more useful than the others though.

Also, I think the questions from the actual WG tests tend to get recycled a lot between firms - for my latest WG, I only encountered one new set of questions! This might be something to be mindful of for future tests.

If I'm asked a question like, why a career in commercial law in my Video Interview and I have already included that in my cover letter, will it sound repetitive to repeat the answer on the same lines because practically there is nothing else I can answer?

To be honest I doubt you'll be able to say all the things you said in your written answer anyway because the time will go by pretty fast! I'd just pick the three top points and then go from there and just speak about them. Try and avoid being too scripted and repeating exactly what you said but inevitably there will be a fair bit of an overlap so I wouldn't worry! Hope that helps :)

For info the video interview is fairly nice. Did find the timing tight and got cut off as I was finishing my last sentence a couple of times.
Hi! Can you please let me know how much time is given for preparation and then to record the answer?
Also, can I access the link, that I have received for the Video Interview, prior to the final recording and practice and then go back? I have heard that there will be a practice video interview question in the link.
    Thank you, in advance :)

Just did video interview and was cut short on last answer. Will that have an implication ?
I have heard this happen to people and they have been successful. If you were rounding up your point and evidently mindful of the time I wouldn't worry too much and it was only one question. The VI will be viewed holistically, so long as you did well overall you will be totally fine.

When you say distracted - how do you mean? If you mean that you did not engage and look at the camera then this is a bigger issue than if you perhaps closed a textbox which popped up on-screen to alert you of a poor connection.

I ran out of time on 2 questions while rounding up if that helps. Had made my points and was just summarising so hoping it’ll be ok. Not heard back yet though.
I wouldn't worry about this either - especially if you were summarising :) Wishing you guys the best and hope you get positive outcomes from your VIs :)

Hello again, everyone. It's been more than a day since I sat the WG and I haven't received a response from Baker McKenzie yet, should I be worried? It appears to me that they have been taking half a day to get back to applicants at this stage...
I wouldn't worry - it might be that a lot of people completed the test yesterday and they are working through the backlog. You have done what you can and tried your best so just try to sit tight. They will no doubt let you know as soon as they have reviewed your test score.
