Hi Jessica, how would you suggest approaching the interview question "What has been the biggest risk you took in life?" Should I stick to something work/society-related?

I would just answer honestly - it could be anything, it doesn’t have to be from a particular category of experience

Hi Jessica,

I completed my WG test for CC and didn't receive the following as they said I would:

" an immediate notification from Get Feedback to say that your test score has been submitted"

I am worried that they have not received my WG test.

wait 24 hours, check your junk mail, then contact them if you haven’t received anything.

Thank you for clarifying.

I tried to open the test link again and it says the same as when I finished and submitted the test: "This form has already been completed - thank you for your time". Therefore, I am just very confused why did not receive the "immediate notification".

could be a 101 reasons. Wouldn’t worry about it too much. Sounds like it has been submitted.

Hello :)

How would you approach the following question that has a limit of 200 words:

'Tell us why you are pursuing a career as a solicitor at [firm]'

Would you split the word count evenly between answering why a solicitor and then why the firm? I'm finding it hard to cover both points in detail with the word limit!

Thank you

There won’t be a set answer on this. Someone who has more commercial legal work experience may need less word count on the first part than someone who has no legal work experience at all.

Hi @Jessica Booker

I have a VS next week with Jones Day- the grad rec has said there will be a list of tasks available to pick from (kind of like the inside Sherpa internships) but have said obviously you won’t be able to do them all.

how many would you advise doing? And are there tasks you would advise I do other others?

I don’t know what the list consists of or how long it is so it’s very difficult for me to comment.

Hi Jessica, I'm currently answering this question:

What do you consider to be the key attributes of a lawyer in business? What kind of qualities and expertise do you think they should have? Can you give us an example of where you have demonstrated these qualities?

Do you think it would be acceptable to write different 'mini' examples for each quality (drawing on a range of work experience) or should I just take the question literally and focus on just one example? I feel that the wording is a tiny bit ambiguous. I'm torn about how to approach it and am curious to hear what your thoughts.

The word limit is extremely flexible, but I wouldn't write more than about 400 words I would guess.

Cheers!

I’d go with mini examples, focusing less on the A part of a STAR format

Hi Jessica!

As part of onboarding before the start of my training contract, my firm requires a new CV for prehire checks - may I ask, what do these consist of generally? Thank you.

It’s just an updated CV - it’s not a specialised document, it’s just something they can use to verify all your employment or achievements to date.
