Applying for vacation schemes with low 2nd year grades

Second year law at Russell Group Uni and got 57% this year. A third in one module, mid 2:1 in another. 61-68 in the remaining 3 modules. Got 68% average in first year with range of 64-70. I had a VS at a US law firm in April but didn’t convert. Currently on a mentoring scheme with another US law firm. Was wondering if it’s worth applying to Vac schemes given my current grades.

Please help! Much appreciated

I think many firms will want to see a 2.1 average in your second year, and so it maybe tricky. Do you have any extenuating circumstances for the module that was a third?

I had mitigating circumstances (mental health challenges) for that module that allowed me to defer it to August. During The exam itself, i encountered a technical error with my notes for half an hour but didn’t register that as EC.

Not sure if that helps?
