Hey Guest, do you have a question for graduate recruitment? Gemma Baker from Willkie is live to answer your questions!
Is there any difference if you apply through them? Like say, you get a training contract with them, you will still be considered as an A&O Sherman lawyer in the end?pfo :'( guess I now gotta apply to shearman
best of luck everyone!
Selective or just lazy? These firms really need to see the application holistically and make decisions.Wow A&O surely must have just passed everyone who got to the interview stage through. Because there’s no way they only did 2 interview rounds. Very selective!

Lazy is the right word I guess hahaha. I'm kinda shocked. It is what it is.Selective or just lazy? These firms really need to see the application holistically and make decisions.
Congratulations!!! Such a huge achievement! Good luck with it!I got an AC invite today, so don't lose hope yet!
what do you mean by this - as in u reckon most who made it to the AC got selected after it, regardless of AC performance??Wow A&O surely must have just passed everyone who got to the interview stage through. Because there’s no way they only did 2 interview rounds. Very selective!

It was a passing comment. Take it with a pinch of salt. But it’s very likely that there was a high success rate with the participants of the AC.what do you mean by this - as in u reckon most who made it to the AC got selected after it, regardless of AC performance??
I spoke with GR and they don't do that at A&O and most other firms. Usually, they have a set amount of people they give ACs to, maybe 30, and then they would probably hope that 22 make it through. But, let's say it is only 15 - what they usually do is hope that there will be better people in the following ACs for summer and spring and that they can make up for the low turn out by perhaps taking on 27 from both, or they will just recruit the remaining trainee numbers needed to ensure that there are 80 trainees in the end via the direct training contract route. My theory is that they see how many people fail at the AC stage and then invite new candidates to the AC from a ranked list. Might be wrong tho
