Yeah it is such a tedious process. I have them written out on a document and copy and paste to make the process a bit quicker, but in my experience most firms make you input each module individually.
I think as long as you talk about why that merger is interesting to YOU it’s fine to mention. Although, I’m not sure if I would spend a lot of time on this reason.

Is this for Stephenson Harwood? I thought 600 words for each question is quite excessive. I am definitely using geopolitical conflict as one of the examples, especially with the recent presidential election.
