I just found out that I have been put on the reserve list for a VS
I am having very mixed emotions about this - it's the furthest I have gotten in the current and past cycles, yet I can't help but to feel a bit disappointed in myself for not performing well enough to be offered a place...
Congrats! It's very efficient of them as I think they only had their ACs this week? By any chance you know if they are getting back to all candidates today?
Have you both heard from Dechert today? My AC is on 8th but it's worrying me that I still haven't heard from them after replying to confirm my place. Given the invitation came in on 1 April, I am increasingly wondering if it was meant to be just an April fool joke 🤣
Is anyone here applying to the CPS legal trainee scheme barrister/solicitor pathway? I am confused by the application form.
I know we need to remove our education institution and other identifying info from the manually input CV section, but we are also asked to upload a CV and I wonder if I...
In previous ACs I found that I'am really bad at doing written exercise and often struggle to finish my write up before time's up. I think it's most likely due to lack of practice (I often panic during the test), but I can't seem to any good resource out there... How do people prepare for their...
Has anyone heard from Dechert (applied near deadline)? Applied on the deadline day for summer VS and vaguely remember reading on their website that they aim to get back to candidate within 10 working days...
Sorry to hear that :( Just checked my portal and am still stuck at 70% (for spring) so think I will get a PFO soon too. Mind if I ask when's your application? Just want to gauge if they are doing rejection in batches
I am working on an application that asks "What motivates you? Please support this with an example of where you demonstrated your drive and motivation". As it says "support this with AN example" in the question, I think it is effectively asking what motivates me the most. Or would it be ok to...
There's some technical issues with an online test I did for a firm (basically GR didn't get the result). It appears to be a fairly complicated issue so after a few emails the GR escalated it to IT and told me it wouldn't affect the outcome of my application.
Maybe it's just a standard thing they...
Haha I am the opposite - just want to get my rehearsed why law why S&S question out of the way before the written assessment which I can only improvise😅 Guess launchpad just wouldn't let us have it our way 🤣
Does any know if there's an option to pause briefly between Simmons&Simmons's online written exercise and VI, e.g. by not clicking a certain button? Just want to see if it's possible to do my written assessment in pj 😅
Thanks Jessica! The server is back again just now and I checked my email and realized deadline is actually tomorrow instead of today, so I just wrote an email to GR explaining the server issue and said I will do it tomorrow (didn't ask for extension as I worry that it will reflect poorly on me)...
Trying to do my Simmons and Simmons VI today but the server has been down since early afternoon...I was given seven days to complete it and deadline is tomorrow, is it too late to email the firm regarding the situation and ask for extension? I don't know if it's gonna look bad on me as I didn't...
I am doing a Dechert application and their last question is "If applicable please state any additional information which you think is relevant to your application or which you think has not been covered adequately in this form". What do they expect to see in this section and is it ok to leave it...
For the work experience section, do you explain their responsibilities/job details in point form or paragraphs? I did point form for all my applications so far, still got to AC stage with Ropes and Gray last year so I thought it's fine. But then I was listening to a talk by Willkie's grad...
