Hi - I did not do the interview with NRF however I did a telephone interview with Morgan Lewis - different firm but still a telephone interview. From what I understand, questions are similar.
They asked me motivational questions (why the firm, why law) and situational questions (what did you do...
Hi!
Hope everyone is progressing well with their TC applications.
I am wondering if anyone know roughly when V&E generally get back to applicants for the direct TC ? And did anyone hear back from them at any point ?
thanks!
I do not know 100% but I would say it is probable to receive an invite next week. When did you apply ? :)
I would say if you look at last year's forum thread (Direct TC) using the search function you might find the last date applicants received invites! I did that with some firms to get an idea...
Hi - not all WG invites are sent on the same day so there is still hope you may receive a WG invite :)
Also the Watson Glaser test invite is not automatic, so they do a first screening.
If you are successful following the WG test, you will receive an invite to a telephone interview.
Hope...

PS: I mean in practice tests online, not the one sent by the firm, they would most definitely use other questions for their actual test!

Hi, thank you so much for the insight! It seems impossible to practice beforehand indeed. I will keep my fingers cross (and practice for the WG test).
I can relate, I had covid when doing the WG test for Fried Frank and it did not help my case. well done for completing it whilst feeling sick...
Hi - I cannot help but there is a forum thread regarding NRF training contract for this application cycle and they are discussing the telephone interview, maybe it would be helpful for you to engage on this thread ? :)
Hi, sorry to hear about the Macfarlanes rejection, but for NRF keep your fingers crossed, someone said they received their invite to the test on the 5th of August last year, you could receive some good news tomorrow!!
In terms of training, from what I gathered the main difference between US and UK firms is the formality of the training. US firms are known for giving early responsibilities (as you mentioned the small trainee cohort plays a part), a lean team structure and offering less formal training. I guess...
