    2020-21 Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion

I've found a few notes I made! Apparently I was asked about why PwC and what I'd learned about them (not sure if this was throughout the process so far or through research?), situational questions such as how I'd react in the workplace, and then the difficult question was not a question but a...

    2020-21 Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion

I did it back in 2019 and it's quite nice! I can't remember much but it was very long, almost an hour as far as I can remember. There was a difficult question at the end and quite a few competencies. I was successful so can try to dig out any notes for you but I'm not sure what I have. Sorry for...

    2020-21 Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion

I applied to the London office and submitted my application on 04 December. I submitted my WG on 07 December. :) Definitely! I thought the same - I'd always leave the tough questions until the end for the WG and come back but you cn't do that in this! The time is also shorted so just be...

I have - it's very short, only four questions, and three of mine were just standard competencies including why law. Don't stress too much about it and you'll be grand. :)

Congrats!!!!!!! <3 It's just a standard SHL Verbal Reasoning test :) The hardest part in my opinion is that you cannot go back and change your answer to any question so just be mindful of this!

Wonderful, thank you both so much for your responses!!!! It was really stressing me out!!!! I currently have 600 words rather than 300 in an attempt to cover everything so I'll get cropping...

    Squire Patton Boggs personal statement

Hi guys Merry Christmas to all! :) Does anyone have any advice on the SPB personal statement for their London vacation scheme? It's only 300 words but on their website they give guidance here about what to include, and there's just so much: A personal introduction – Think about what you think...

    2020-21 Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion

Hey all. Just had an invite to the RPC Verbal Reasoning test! Does anyone know what this is like? This is one of my top firms and I'm not sure what to expect, whether it's firm developed or SHL or similar to the WG?

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

Hi guys. Just thought I'd say - if you haven't signed up for Vantage already, go and do it! I was contacted by them today to say that they'd seen my profile and wanted to invite me to a webinar on Digital Media Law with Lewis Silkin this week. I'd never actually read much about Lewis Silkin...

Hi all!!! Already had many rejections at the start of this season (for VS at W&C, Slaughters, Linklaters, HSF and Open Days for W&C and Bird & Bird)... HOWEVER, this week I received an invitation to Taylor Wessing's additional Open Day event on 10th December and on Tuesday, I got an invitation...

    GDL vs SQE?

Thanks so much both for responding. :) Yeah, agreed but it wouldn't feel as much of a hit in the short-term if I had it funded and were gradually paying back a loan rather than using my current savings. Regarding SQE intakes pushed to 2024, that's really interesting to know. Does that mean...

    GDL vs SQE?

Hi all, I have a MAJOR career conundrum. So sorry in advance for the long post but it is giving me a big headache and I would be so grateful for some advice from you lovely people. I am a non-law graduate, having left university two years ago, and I am now in full-time work. I have a good job...

    Baker McKenzie

As a graduate already in a stressful working environment requiring common sense and realism, this isn’t a issue with either things. It’s about reading the room - something you also need for a career in law - and this is not the place to try to incite more nerves in applicants. I can tell you...

    Baker McKenzie Video Interview

Hi all, Been invited to the video interview stage at Bakers for a TC! :D I really struggled in applications for VS's this year so I want to do really well in this if possible. Has anyone got any tips specific to the Bakers VI? I've only ever done video interviews for vacation schemes before -...
