Thank you so much I really appreciate any advice and I will look into - currently I work in an administration job which has plenty of transferable skills, I do court volunteering and used to volunteer to help children develop reading skill at a local primary school which again is transferable. I...
Just had 2 rejections Anthony Collins and Withers within the space of minutes today, feeling very unsettled and worried now, considering doing some TC applications, but I know the factor that's holding me back is a 2.2, (however I had extenuating circumstances). I know this is the career path...
Hi Jessica, is this an acceptable email to send out to a graduate recruiter in relation to an update? They only provide a generic email:
'To whom it may concern,
I am writing in regards to the progress of my application, I would be grateful if I could be provided with an update please.
Yours...
Hi Jessica
I haven’t heard from withers and I applied at the end of January. Can I email recruitment and ask about the progress/outcome of my application?
Hi Jessica, Im applying for Shoosmiths and one of the questions is quite difficult and I was wondering if you could give me some ideas on how I can approach it?
“In a competitive legal market, how do you think Shoosmiths can remain successful and attractive to clients in 2020 and beyond without...
Thanks:) I can understand Hindi near fluently and attended classes as a child however my ability to converse back is basic and my written skills are also basic to none as I don't practice anymore. Is it best to exclude this? As I'm not fluent in all aspects
Thank you for this, I really appreciate it. By skill set, do you mean placing teamwork/interpersonal/time management etc and in a few lines explaining them? And also, what constitutes a visually appealing cv? I feel like its hard to stand out
What do you mean by a wider application? As in if there’s more to the application process than solely a cv?
In terms of evidence I just add the grades, work experience and personal achievements , I’ve not heard of using examples in cv’s so I assume I can’t add any. I just have brief bullet...
Will graduate recruiters care for a profile and having a core competencies section on my CV? I also listed the skills I gained from my degree but would a recruiter just assume these skills would already be a given as all graduates would have the same?
Hi Jessica, if I need to submit a cv to some firms would I need to specify the name of the firm in my profile on the cv or can I just leave it as it is? It specifies that I’m seeking a legal vacation scheme
Yeah I realise that, I was tired and probably didn’t explain myself clearly I’d been using star for the other competency based questions on the form which require some form of structure. Thank you for the advice though
Its Withers. I've researched the firm in terms of their private client work. Also Im particularly interested in their family law sector however, I'm just struggling to find an approach with a 60 word limit, could you recommend any particular structure for answering this please?
Thank you, I wasn't sure if it was something that I could express my opinion on, but I will do. In terms of why I selected them is it acceptable to discuss their association with charitable organisations, or should I relate it to their expertise which is private client? I only have 60 words, so...
Hi Jessica, I am currently finalising an application and one of the questions is 'What do you wish you had invented and why?' I have previously done volunteering in a mental health capacity and mental well being is really important to me and I wanted to put down the app called better help i.e...
