I completely agree with this- we only see graduate level diversity initiatives- and how many of these are purely for box ticking purposes we will never really know. I think the larger problem as you say is career progression where it is far less transparent
Should I contact a firm that I applied to months and months ago and have not heard back from yet?- I know many people who have applied after me that have been rejected/passed to the next stage. Concerned about annoying graduate recruitment
I also like to look at whether a firm has done something similar for that client before -showing how they are able to build long relationships with clients :)
Ah okay, that's interesting. I only ask because I keep reading horror stories on the internet about Magic circle life and I was kind of thinking similar to you- at top firms hours must be reasonably similar (to an extent). Just quite hard to to pinpoint exactly what is true.

sorry to flag up an old post- I was wondering as I dont have experience in either - are the magic circle working hours significantly more than say a silver circle firm or another big international firm? (excluding the big American firms)
I have found it particularly difficult to find a commercial law paralegal role without the LPC tbh- i just went for something else (family law)- and honestly it hasnt hindered me in interviews because it shows my commitment to the profession and actually lets me say what's missing from it that...
I got asked this and as a follow up was it because I only recently decided I wanted to do commercial law- I was honest and just said at uni wanted to focus on exams and explained that it wasnt a recent decision- I also said I had tried before and was rejected in other apps- I got the feeling it...
After a couple of unsuccessful cycles, I've finally got a vac scheme. Just wanted to say that I wouldn't have got it without so many people's help on this forum! thanks to all!
Ah okay cheers guys- just was a bit concerned because everyone seems to hear back immediately if it's positive news- probs just happens to be certain firms
