A lot of firms fund the GDL and LPC retrospectively anyway but given this is entirely out of students' control I would expect a lot of firms to pay back any tuition regardless of what their policy is on retrospective fee paying
Yeah I finished the Bocconi course last week! Ah I see yeah I read that article too!
So CVC has raised a normal closed-end fund and are using the money raised from that to purchase various stakes in companies that they think they can add value to and then sell for a profit later on (in this...
I also recently did a PE course on Coursera which was really good and would thoroughly recommend it!
When you say purchasing and lending, do you mean the difference between a PE debt fund and a PE equity fund?
If you studied the IB Diploma in English as your first language then I'd put yourself down as 'native' because you clearly speak and understand it as well as fellow-Englishmen and women imo
EDIT: if fluency was an option then I would put that but some forms don't give you a great deal of...
Gibson Dunn has reduced the summer vacation scheme to 2 weeks at the beginning of July. They plan to run the summer scheme virtually for the most part but will also investigate if it is possible to have some attendance at the office during the scheme.
In a word absolutely! If you are able to explain in your application answers and then later in your interviews how these experiences will help/can help you in a career at a corporate law firm in the UK then you will be in a strong position :)

They asked me about my preferences and I explained how I'd only like to do a virtual scheme as a last resort which she completely understood. She also discussed the possibility of moving the scheme to the Winter but they're waiting to make the decision as late as possible I think because it's...
Thanks for your message @S87. Akin Gump basically solely recruits from VS - they only hold TC interviews if it doesn't get the desired amount of trainees from the scheme. Weil and Kirkland have the same approach but Gibson Dunn only recruits from VS barring exceptional circumstances. Hope that...
Just had a nice catch-up call with the GradRec team at Gibson Dunn. The firm continues to really impress me in the way they approach their graduate recruitment. Anyway, long story short is that they aren't making any decisions yet but are going to do everything they can to ensure an 'in-person'...
