Thank you! Yeah I'm not even sure what it is - probably a result of the Vac Scheme apps not going too well and the fact I'm not getting any younger/thought I would have a TC by now. A few days off is probably what I need just to step back and re-assess.
Is anyone else getting a sense of application fatigue? Since sending the last of my vac scheme apps off on Sunday I've been feeling so deflated yesterday and today after work when trying to start my TC applications. Anyone have any tips for getting that motivation back? I'm almost thinking of...
Most firms aren’t explicit, usually just a pass. That being said, I got a highish pass (but with a 44 in contract law lol) and have been rejected at the application stage for pretty much every firm I’ve had to input the module breakdown for 🤷🏻♂️
I’m ngl I’m pretty low at the minute and don’t think I’ve got much more to give. My Work is crazy busy currently with a high level remediation project so under a lot of pressure most of the time.
Then spending all of my spare time doing applications which don’t even get anywhere (at least past...
Congrats! Looks like I’m sunk though, nothing on my end and they tend to send out emails all in one surely?
0/7 conversion rate on VIs across 3 cycles holy sh*t I am awful at them
Fellow Grads/Slightly older applicants - what firms have people been targeting?
I’ve been trying to go for firms that don’t use apply4law (they often require grade breakdowns and mine are sh*te), but obviously some firms will lean more towards valuing professional experience?
Just putting...
There definitely does seem to be a rule of thumb with grades in regard to overall % per year. I had a 2.1 (non law) from decent RG but I had 2.2s overall in my first and second years, so ended up having to pull the rabbit out of the hat in my final year to get the 2.1.
I also agree certain...
Ok that makes sense - do you mean exclusively VS Schemes? I’ve been working in legal/professional roles for 16 months now so I assume that would easily cover that
Is it a general rule that law firms prefer vac scheme places to go to students and expect graduates to apply for the straight training contract?
Im only wondering just because with this vacation scheme application cycle having been so competitive I’m wondering if it’s going to be 10x worse for...
Jesus I must be doing something fundamentally wrong. This is my 4th cycle, Non-Law, completed GDL and have about 16 months of legal/professional experience - I haven’t even had a sniff of an AC let alone a Vac Scheme.
