I don't know why you assume that I am attacking Jessica personally. If she wants to feel offfended on behalf of all grad rec, that's her prerogative, but I'm not going out of my way to attack her or even "grad rec" as an entity. I don't have a vendetta against grad rec, but neither do I put them...
All I can say in response to this is that my saying that law firms and graduate recruitment get things wrong is not an insult and not a value judgement. Only a statement that is supported by my own experiences and those of many people I know. You are free to feel insulted if you want, I...
No I'm going to blame the law firms because a lack of knowledge of immigration matters was the case even before the new set of regulations. As someone who has been discriminated against as a foreign applicant, I am very concious of the fact that law firms do get things wrong.
I am also not...
Considering most graduate recruitment and lateral recruitment teams in the City seem to barely know or understand immigration rules for foreign applicants half the time, I wouldn't be shocked if this recruitment policy wasn't fully vetted.
Probably would be indirect discrimination under the Equality Act, but unlikely that anyone would pursue it or win. Would depend on how well CC justifies it and how many "older" applicants are actually blocked out. Its not like you can't be 35 and a 2nd year student.
If it is, they really hate the real person, who posted on linkedin about getting a vac scheme with DLA and offered materials both here and on the student room with the same username.
Real judgy from someone short sighted and dishonest enough to offer assessment centre materials to other people....
Edit: AND WITH YOUR REAL NAME. WOW.
Doing a DSAR is only going to sour a firms impression of you. They're a pain in the ass for people to do and its really not worth it for the result of a Watson glaser.
Cognify is a collection of random mobile phone logic games except the time limit makes it impossible to do each question correctly in the amount of time alloted. This tends to make people stress out (me included, I almost quit the stupid thing on every single game). Play some of those brain...
When I did the AC, we downloaded the files off of the testing platform Ashurst used to host the whole thing. Then worked on the written exercise in Word while still on camera with grad rec and sent it back to them after.
You might be surprised! I almost rage quit the assessment because I was frustrated and ended up getting a really high result in the end. The questions are made so you can't really finish all of them well in the time given.
If you increase numbers, you'd still have to find the people to supervise students attending the scheme which may be even more difficult logistically with everyone working from home.
Basically it just boils down to get 30/40 percent correct to get through if thats the case. Dunno if they weight different questions more than others like some firms do, but I doubt it having done the WG for HL 4 times now.
