So GP-led transactions are fairly standard in PE in that they are simply deals that are led by the investment professionals at the PE firm i.e. the general partners (GPs) who sit on the PE firm's investment committee and decide where they will invest the money they received from their clients or...
I and my cohort used that guide from 2019 and it was great and didn't really need any changes so I wouldn't worry about buying that version tbh especially since you can just amend them with any updates your tutors tell you about for your own revision purposes :)
I've never heard of this approach...
Since you've already used up the postgraduate loan for your LLM, I'd go back to your firm and explain your situation and ask if there's any way they can make an exception for your circumstances. I highly doubt you're the first person to have this issue with...
I think people will be given the choice as that's what is happening for August exams at the moment but definitely worth confirming with your university to be sure :)
I've been one of the mentors on that programme this past year and I can safely say that the resources available are brilliant! One bit of advice, make sure you engage with your mentor and get the most out of the programme you can - you've done really well to get on it as it's very competitive so...
For BPP we'll have the option to do online or in-person and they'll be open book. I had this confirmed by my firm's contact so don't stress too much guys haha (imagine ULaw will be the same but worth confirming with them obviously)

Amazing news!!! What a way to start the week - hope you're able to celebrate in the lovely sunshine we have at the moment :)
PS: which firm if you don't mind me asking?
Ah I see! Well, in that case, it might be worth giving Covington a call or an email just to see if they have any TC places open?
But I completely understand your frustration and totally agree that if a position has been filled, firms should take down the portal for this reason.
It'll be very much firm dependent but a fair few US firms pay their London associates the same bonuses as they do in the US which you can see on the link below:

Sadly this is a fairly normal occurrence with US firms with small trainee intakes so I wouldn't be surprised and would always recommend people apply for the vac scheme if they can for this reason :(
