I'd recommend picking something that interests you - something that you could go in-depth with! It doesn't matter if it's prominent or not, it's the quality of your answer that matters. If it's a 'mainstream' problem I'd recommend looking at the underlying issues!

I feel exactly the same. I have exams, and I'm also checking my emails every day. Sometimes I don't feel like doing anything because I'm waiting for something - anything. It's really stressful.
I also noticed that firms like Latham have had their deadline much earlier this year compared to last...
Not at all! ☺️ Applications should be the place where you can feel free to show off your aptitudes! (Although.. I don't see how you perceive it as bragging - you really achieved that, with your own efforts; it's something commendable and they will admire you for it)
I just heard back from HR on behalf of the Cambridge office. They said they are trying to give a reply by ‘Wednesday’. I don’t know if this Wednesday (today) or next week.
They said ACs will take place between 18-31 Jan. I contacted them and they said they will aim to reply to everyone by the end of this week. Still nothing here!
