Generally speaking, prepping answers by learning a script is a bad idea for this reason - your responses can seem wooden and impersonal. I always recommend against scripted answers in that way.
Don't believe they've opened yet - I think they open in the next few weeks. From what I remember they open them after they're finished the VS cycle so they can allocate however many offers to VS students that they want.
Almost invariably either identical or overwhelmingly similar in the very least. For firms who change their questions open, there are still key areas you can prep for as Jaysen says (eg why law, why X firm, etc etc). For firms who want a CV, spend some time on your CV to get it up to scratch and...
Quite a number of my second year grades were 2:2's - similarly to you, these were due to mitigating circumstances (broke my back). I always explained this and it never really posed a massive problem for me - my grades went exponentially up afterwards and I ended up graduating with a 1st and...
At the risk of sounding harsh (and I dont intend to at all!) but this really is a "how long is a piece of string?" question.
I would answer this in much the same way as I answer questions about how long applications ought to take: it depends on a million and one factors. Here are a few factors...
Having not yet done the LPC, I can only comment based on what I've been told of the course relative to my own experiences (LLB undergrad).
From everything I've been told, this should be fairly well manageable if youre doing the one-year LPC but may be challenging if you're on the 6 month LPC...
I've only just seen this - apologies! It seems as though you've already had some great advice, but I thought I'd chuck my hat in the ring here anyway.
I would tend to agree with others, firstly, that there's definitely nothing wrong with these grades. A 2.1 will satisfy almost every TC offer...
I agree with Jess' input here.
At the risk of sounding brutal (although having been in the position of disclosing these circumstances myself), the aim of the game isn't simply to talk about how bad XYZ things were and how tough it all was. You need to retain a level of composure and...
I would echo most of the advice here in saying that it's highly unlikely to negatively impact your chances broadly speaking. There are some first who are an exception to this - Slaughters definitely being one in my experience - but broadly speaking I really don't foresee this being a particular...
Rejections at any stage are really rough, but especially post-AC and post-VS!
First off, allow yourself to feel a bit down and a bit vulnerable as long as you need to. You're human and you've gone through an emotionally challenging situation, you need time to recoup and recover from that.
It...
My winner for this week is @aspiringjd2021 for this wonderfully helpful post in response to another member's query. It's great to see members bringing wider experience to the forums to help others in such a positive and constructive manner. Thoroughly well deserved! We sincerely hope the month...
I did a bit of mooting back in the day, albeit I haven't got wigged up for a few years. @aspiringjd2021 has given some excellent advice here, all of which I agree with. In addition, I would consider a few things:
Read the scenario carefully. This is a test, and I can virtually guarantee there...
What initial thoughts do you have here? If you share some of your base ideas, we can maybe talk through them and see whether you feel you're on the right track.
I would remind you that, often, simple is best - with this sort of question, many of the base-level reasons are the same (and so it...
For starters, this isn't a terrible error by any stretch of the imagination - plenty of successful apps have had a lot worse discrepancies than that! I would personally raise it with them - when you're in practice, if you make a mistake, it's on you to own it and notify the relevant people ASAP...
Hi Asil,
So synergy in an M&A context is, essentially, the idea that two entities combined will have a greater return than the sum of the companies individually.
With that in mind, one might say that merging companies X and Y would produce a revenue-enhancing synergy. Revenue enhancement is...
