TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2021-22 (#1)

Usually it's by the end of Tuesday but to be safe I would definitely submit it latest early Tuesday. Is this for the Winter VS?

TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2021-22 (#1)

Is anyone applying to Clyde & Co Scotland and can advise whether the application process is similar to that of the English offices? I don't see a VI section on their Scottish VS page on their website.

Clyde & Co video interview Summer Vac Scheme 2021

May I ask when you submitted your online app and when you received your video interview invite? Which location are you applying to? Thanks! Never done it with Clyde & Co but I've been asked the general "why law" , "why this law firm (and this particular office)", basic competency questions, and...

Redirected to Vacation Scheme from Training Contract Application?

Just applied to large firm's TC without having any VS experience (what was I thinking?!). Even though I got a 95% percentile on the Watson Glaser test for this application and have done law internships outside of the UK, I feel that my lack of VS experience in this particular firm will put me at...

Tier 2 Work Visa Sponsorships - Which firms? Insight from international students?

Thank you so much for the information! May I fall under these exceptions (https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/when-you-can-be-paid-less) ? I hope it is still feasibly possible for international students to train in the UK. Edit: I have a international friend that is starting work at PwC...

Tier 2 Work Visa Sponsorships - Which firms? Insight from international students?

Hi! I'm currently studying in Scotland on a Tier 4 student visa and I'm looking into applying for training contracts in Scotland (and maybe England). Are there any firms you are aware of that sponsor Tier 2 visas and some that for sure do not (e.g. Shoosmiths). I have received conflicting...

    Shoosmiths 2021

Pretty sure that's not the case. They just mean they will consider your application for a TC assessment centre but there is no guarantee. Guess we'll all just have to wait May/June :'(

    Shoosmiths 2021

That would make sense if it was a general email. I wonder what happens to those who were originally not eligible to apply for TCs? Does that mean that email is just a rejection straight up? Might have to ask :'( Edit: penultimate Scots LLBs are considered for TC. My mistake!

    Ask A Graduate Recruiter Anything!

Hi Jessica, To give some context, I have an application that was rejected for a VS but may still be considered for a TC. Don't know if this has been asked but is it appropriate to reach out to a graduate recruitment member of a firm on LinkedIn to ask about what more I can do to put my...

    Shoosmiths 2021

Thank you! Probably should have included this in original post (sorry super new to forum stuff haha) but it's the Edinburgh office! I previously attended their Edinburgh Insight Evening in early February and I think that helped?

    Shoosmiths 2021

Just got an email saying my application will not be progressed for the vacation scheme but "we want you to know that your application scored highly and will continue to be considered for a training contract". I was told I would be contacted May/June but I'm not sure if I have a fair shot since I...
