Hi all! My name is Lawrence.
I am a future trainee at White & Case, having received vacation scheme offers from Macfarlanes, White & Case and Northridge. I am also a UCL Law graduate and will be starting the SQE in 2025.
At the end of my second year at university, I submitted 14 commercial law applications, receiving only one progression which amounted to rejection at the telephone interview stage. It was around this time, that I discovered the TCLA forum. In a time that felt so isolating, I found relief and a sense of community when reading about others’ experiences with the process. In my journey to securing a training contract, I heavily relied upon many of TCLA’s offerings which made me want to give back to the community as a Product Lead before beginning my SQE.
At TCLA, I particularly enjoy conducting motivational/competency mock interviews. As someone who secured a TC with no previous legal work experience, I really love working closely with candidates to figure out how they can ‘sell’ their past experiences, no matter how unrelated to business or law they may be! I am a strong believer that, as there will never be anyone exactly like you, any firm would be privileged to gain your distinct perspective: sometimes they just need a bit of help and/or time to see this!
In my free time, I like going to the gym and watching football! Unfortunately, being a decade-long Southampton fan has really equipped me with the resilience necessary for commercial law!
