Hi, my name is Gemma!
I’m a future trainee at Freshfields, but also received a training contract offer from Slaughter and May, and vacation scheme offers from Linklaters and Taylor Wessing. I was a non-law student, having studied undergraduate Philosophy at Cambridge. I’ve since studied the PGDL at BPP and will be starting the SQE in 2025.
I’m really passionate about TCLA’s goal of bridging the gap between university and the legal profession, in a way which improves access and widens participation. So, I joined the TCLA team as a Product Lead in September. Since then, I’ve completed over 175 application reviews. I particularly enjoy reviewing cover letters and helping candidates get their answers below the word limits. I also do motivational/competency and case study mock interviews, aiming to have each candidate leave feeling more confident than they did before.
In my free time, I tend to unwind by watching TV shows – Grey’s Anatomy is a personal favourite!
